@Rainbow Sprinkles: Dude, I've been oiling & stretch mark buttering myself up day & night for months now, but I still have a ways to go! *knocks on wood...a couple times*

I physically cannot handle more than 2 kids I'm pretty sure. If money were no object, I would hire help or put the oldest in preschool earlier. Being outnumbered sounds kind of scary.

We're only planning on two but if money were no object we would love to adopt maybe two more with special needs and I'd stay home full time.

We probably would still only have 3 bio kids, but if $ were plentiful we would def adopt!

We are going to have 2 or 3. But it all depends on my body and what it can handle. My mom and I both have the same heart condition and her second pregnancy caused a lot of issues. Not sure how a 2nd or 3rd pregnancy would affect me.

DH and I have talked about having up to 4 children. We are taking our children one at a time, but 4 is our limit regardless of money. Hoping somewhere in that 4 we will get a girl, but if we don't that's ok too....

Adopting from foster care costs ZERO DOLLARS. All fees are paid by the state.

When you adopt from the foster care system, you receive their foster care stipend until they turn 18. This is to incentivize adoption so kids are not stuck in foster limbo. The stipend can range based on where you live, and is increased if there are any medical needs, educational needs (like IEP’s) or psychological issues requiring therapy.

In many states, former foster youth are eligible to attend their state university FOR FREE.

(got the above info from Rage Against the Minivan!)

Just wanted to put this out so everyone knows!

I think money would change things for us. We're currently expecting #1 and I'm already stressed about money. It's not that we don't have enough its that we don't have enough to maintain our current standard of living and savings goals AND have a kid. Somethings got to give. I think we'll think long and hard about #2 because money is only going to get tighter with 2. I think money is the biggest obstacle/stressor for me when I think about having kids. We're just not the kind of people who know we want X number of kids and are willing to sacrifice anything to have them.

We're planning on 2-3 but if money wasn't an issue it would be 3-4.
