saw this and thought it was, to put it mildly, an understatement.... Feel like there's not much to laugh about these days, but this pretty hilariously encapsulates just how much free time those of us trying to parent full-time, work full-time, and stay connected with family have under these circumstances....

I just saw this myself and died laughing. The one I saw also had the following comment:
People without kids: Huh? Why? What does being a first child have to do with anything?"
People with kids: "I feel seen."

That's hilarious! But I'm also over here at home with an almost 4 year old and a 4 week old thinking maybe we should go for a third... what the hell is wrong with me.

@Sams Mom: Honestly, I'm 3 weeks out from delivering #3 and I'm starting to think more seriously about a 4th. We were always "3 maybe 4" but right now I feel like this is not the birthing/newborn experience I want to have as my last time

@Sams Mom: when my kids were all being good today I was thinking maybe we need a fourth ... luckily that doesn’t last though
I do think it feels more doable being home more. The thing that really did me in on #3 was trying to do newborn/nursing/etc while doing two older kid schedules at two different schools. So I get the other side of the coin too!

I'll be really surprised if there's a baby boom where I live. For that matter, I suspect many people will reconsider having kids at all even if they get through this in one piece. I'm sure many NYC residents are wondering how they will feed their kids right now, or who will take the (possibly infectious) kids if they're in hospital, or worse. I've heard of people reaching out to random relatives they've barely spoken to in years, and putting them in their wills as the kids' guardians, just because they're the only ones in the extended family young enough to hopefully not be in the risk group.

Between this and climate change, I'm not trying to add anymore kids to the world. For a long time I was on the fence re: a third, but I'm good now.

Yeah I’m thinking there’s going to be a sudden absence of births in 9 months. I can’t imagine anyone is thinking about trying to get pregnant amidst all of this. My sister and her hubby put their plans on hold for the time being.
