.. there was an orange sitting on your desk - would or eat it right away or wait until you knew who it was from?

... knowing my co-workers, I would try to find out who it was from first before knowing if it was safe to eat or not.

I wouldn't eat it at all! I would think someone misplaced it?

I would probably take it to the kitchen and leave it there.

I would not eat it! I'd just leave it there for a few days and throw it out if no one claimed it lol!

Umm, not from me - I couldn't believe she ate it w/o knowing who it came from!
Then finally S came in and told me it was from her - THEN I ate it

@Mamaof2: I would eat it. We have food appear all the time from our dietary director. She feeds us good!

I'd set it aside till someone told me who it's from.

I'd ask who left it..if one of my immediate (3 others I work closely with) co-workers didn't leave it, I'd set it aside. It wouldn't surprise me though since we often leave things on one another's desk.
And now, I'm off to the kitchen to grab a couple cruties I've been craving!

I work in a small office but ppl often bring treats in. So if I was hungry I'd probably eat it, and find out who it was from after! A bigger office and I might not be so trusting.....

I would probably eat it. I mean, it's food. You left it on my desk. It's fair game, LOL.

I'd find out who it was from before eating it! How embarrassing would that be if someone mistakenly left it at your desk and you ate it!?
