Hmmm tough one between cooking and cleaning, but I think I'm gonna have to go with cooking. I usually grab something quickly and only cook for Charlie. It would be nice to eat healthy meals.
What about you?

My husband is the cook, and we have a babysitter lined up, so I'm going to go with a maid.

I'd go with a housekeeper. My floor boards are so dusty! I've been cleaning sections each day. They drive me crazy. -.-
I haven't vacuum'd my stairs in over a year.

i may have to revise my answer if i could have a professional organizer rather than a housekeeper!

Housekeeper. Definitely. I can live on cereal if need be but I can't stand a messy house.

housekeeper: the one I dislike doing the most
(should be sweeping the floor right now)

Can I have the cook 6 days a week and the housekeeper once a week?
I would love to be able to have yummy home-cooked and healthy meals each day and then do something simple (or go out) the day I get the housekeeper. If they could do the major things one day a week, I could keep up with the smaller stuff without problem.

Housekeeper. I don't have a LO yet, but DH cooks every night! I'm a lucky girl
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21628 posts
Well I don't have a lo and I love to cook, so I'd have to say a housekeeper.

Can't I have a maid/housekeeper and a nanny? LOL
That's a hard one. I think a housekeeper would be my pick. I hate housework!
hostess / wonderful persimmon / 25556 posts
A housekeeper! No doubt there. Please clean for me, I'll love you forever.
honeydew / 7968 posts
well, we actually chose a housekeeping cook. haha. but she does more housekeeping than cooking. she also reorganized a lot of things (like my drawers) so more things fit.... which is really nice. i just have to keep it nice and tidy.
but now that my apartment is manageable, i'd rather choose a cook because cooking stresses me out more. but only they're flexible because we can be a little picky with what we like.

I have a cleaning lady that comes every other week and that's really enough, I wouldn't need a housekeeper every day. So I'd pick cook. I would definitely get my use out of a cook!

@venice4504: lol! Hair stylist! I'd love one too.
But practically, I'd have to go with a housekeeper for sure.

oh god, I can't choose! A year ago I would have definitely said babysitter... but now I've gotten used to not leaving the house so I think I'd go with maid. Maybe a cook once or twice a week.

Housekeeper. never knew a 4 month old would cause so much havoc in our house...she can't walk so it's US with her toys and such.LOL
persimmon / 1255 posts
I'm gonna be the oddball out and say I'd choose a babysitter. I would schedule her to start at 11am right after LO's nap so that I can have a 3-4 block of time to get some stuff done, which might include some cleaning or cooking but I don't mind as long as I have time for it. I think the mental baby break will rejuvenate me so that I can be a better mommy

A cook for sure. I don't mind cleaning and tidying up all day if meals just appeared on my table! Meal planning and cooking are huge stresses for me. Except for DD's food, we usually order out.
persimmon / 1135 posts
I'd definitely say a cleaner. I actually enjoy cooking, it's the clean up that sucks- so I'd just let the housekeeper do it! I might change my mind and go for a babysitter after our LO arrives, but I feel like if someone else was doing the laundry and cleaning, I'd be set!

Cook and housekeeper are right there together! I guess if I had a cook, maybe I could clean? But if I had a cleaner, maybe I could cook?! I guess I would say a housekeeper. I don't mind cooking when I have time, and I like my meals that I cook
nectarine / 2797 posts
Cook for sure! I'd love to have healthy food prepared without thinking about it or spending any time.
cantaloupe / 6164 posts
we actually just talked about this last night... if i had three wishes, i would use all three to get a housekeeper. i hate cleaning. ugh.

C.O.O.K!!!! I love to clean and organize, but cooking is not for me. I can't stand spending hours in the kitchen preparing a decent meal and then eating it in 10 minutes. Ughhh....
pear / 1764 posts
I'd like to have someone to do all the prep work in the kitchen &/or the clean up! I like the cooking part itself I also like to clean & am a bit of a control freak about it. Maybe someone who would do a little of each for me? I could use a nap ;P
persimmon / 1465 posts
OMG, totally the housekeeper! If I could have a spotless house and someone else was keeping it spotless I would be a happy Cupcakemama!
kiwi / 718 posts
a cook who cleans the bathrooms? is that allowed? otherwise, definitely a cook. I hate cooking & while the husbone loves to, he's not consistent about it & I, shamefully, do not pick up the slack as I ought to when he doesn't want to cook
oooor a housekeeper who will clean up the kitchen after I cooked. if I didn't have to clean up after, I might be able to be persuaded to be more enthusiastic about developing my culinary skills
cantaloupe / 6669 posts
I don't have a LO, so I would say housekeeper for sure! I hate cleaning, but I love cooking and I adoooore my non-existent LO
honeydew / 7230 posts
Definitely a housekeeper! I love cooking and, at present, do not have a babysitter to babysit. Also, I love a clean house but hate doing the actual cleaning.
pear / 1554 posts
If it's everyday, then, I'd choose a babysitter. We have a newborn, so a babysitter for two hours would give me time to take a nap.
wonderful pear / 26210 posts
Babysitter, by far. I would use the time to exercise and get chores done.
cherry / 230 posts
I'd be using one of each. They could rotate, so the cook does Monday, housekeeper does Tuesday, babysitter does Wenesday and start over again on Thursday. Leaving Sunday off for us.
