Or have it painted for you if you don't love to paint, what would you get?
My mom gifted LO a table and chairs set as an early birthday gift. It's plain wood and she wants me to paint it for her. My first thought was a big Elmo.... but I want it to be able to grow with her. I also want it gender neutral in case we have a boy next. I'll probably just do a random design, but I wanted to hear some ideas!

We found a toddlers chair painted all over with scenes from In the Night Kitchen at goodwill a few years ago. Snagged it! I really like storybooks on furniture now! (Not that I've seen it since really....)

I saw a kids table top that was painted with coloured chalkboard paint.. I thought that was awesome

@Mrs squirreld: I thought about doing that and even posted it on here, but someone mentioned that it could get yucky if they eat on it, spill on the chalk, and then eat it. Of course I would try to clean it first but chalk gets dusty and messy.

My brother was telling me last night that he was going to paint ball a bench that he had built, lol.
I would let my son paint his furniture, but I'm not picky about stuff like that.
Maybe something simple, like yellow with some little smileys or a sweet poem on it?

We have 2 IKEA end tables that are the size of child's tables and we're going to turn one into a lego table (glue down the large lego boards and attached bins for lego pieces on the sides) and the other we're going to paint with chalkboard paint.

There was a cabbage flower print I saw in a magazine once that I think would be adordable inspiration for a girl's table and chairs at.
I also like the black and white stick figure type wallpaper popular on bloods details. That would be fun and throw in a few color accents for hair, clothes, or trees and roof tops here or there.
