How long was your LO sleeping at night? I read that for bf'ing to be effective BC you can't let them go more than 6 hours. I'm not planning on relying on this for bc, but I'd sure like to keep AF away for a while.

I got at 9 months pp pretty much after LO started STTN.

LO started STTN at 6 weeks but I didn't get AF until 6 months.

DS started STTN (11+ hours) at 12 weeks, a month later at 4.5 months pp first AF visit. Then 56 days later cycle #2, then 28 days later cycle #3.
YEA AF IS SO WONKY FOR ME.

LO used to sleep through the night (10 hours consistently every night for a couple of months) and I didn't get my period back during that time. Now we usually have one wake up about 8 hours after she goes down and still no period.

DD STTN at 3-4 months and AF just came back when she was 11 months old. Pretty much right after I stopped pumping.

I just got AF today at 8 months pp and LO does not STTN...he generally goes 6-7 hours at night, but he's done this for several months. I still nurse 6-8x a day too.

@aprk: I set an alarm for 6 hours from when she goes to sleep and I get up and feed her! Sometimes she's still fast asleep so I've been wondering how long she'd sleep if I didn't do that...

LO goes 9-10 hours without eating since she was super young (like 6-7 weeks old), and I got AF at 7.5 months pp.
