I would love to get a dog but not for a while. Smokey the cat does not like dogs and she will probably live for a long time. I also want the kids to help be responsible for them. So maybe when they are 8 and 10?

DH and I have talked about this. As much as our LO loves dogs, no pets for our kids.
Dogs are so high maintenance.

I don't think so. We just aren't pet people. Plus we travel a lot, so it's not nice to have to board the pet all the time.

We plan to when they are older and we have a yard for a dog. DH grew up.with dogs but mainly outside dogs. I never had pets so it isdefinitely more his idea, but i am open to it.

We aren't sure. It was so when we put our sick dogs down that we don't really want to have to go through that again.
