..... would you go and pick up your LO early or have an hour to yourself first?
This exact thing has just happened to me and I'm taking the hour off!!

I'd probably go get a pedicure or do some shopping (grocery or Target) without LO.
Heck, I have 2 days off for the jewish holidays on thursday and friday this week, and the first day LO will go to daycare (I'm going to make a couple of appts for myself) and the second day, DH and I are flying out of town and the in-laws are taking LO.

I would run errands and maybe do one chore, then relax for 10 min, then get LO

It depends - I've been in this situation a couple of times. Three days a week, he is at home with the nanny, so sometimes I'll come home early and sometimes I'll go run a quick errand. If he's at preschool, I can't pick him up during nap time, so if I get off super early, I go run an errand, but still pick him up earlier than I would have on a normal day.

She's in daycare and picking her up an hour early will actually screw with her schedule too much. She may or may not be up from her nap yet or they'll be just siting down to snack.

Sometimes I get her early and take her to the park. Sometimes i take the hour to myself to run errands or do what i gotta do.

When I worked and D was in preschool, I'd keep him there to get the full day of activities. If he were at a sitter, I'd go get him.

I would do some personal shopping or go home and chill before picking up the kids!

I would probably do some errands or go home and clean/do stuff around the house!

I get summer hours and used to get off at 1. However, the earliest I could pick him up would be around 330-4 since they'll be waking up from nap and having a snack. So I would be able to do anything I wanted until then and then still have an extra hour or so with him. I miss summer hours.

If it were just an hour early I would pick up LO because it's such a rush when we get home to play, make dinner, eat dinner, bath, etc. I'd love an extra hour to just have fun with her! But if it were several hours I'd wait until closer to regular pickup time. I've gotten out of work early but it's been during daycare nap hours, so I'd never mess with that.

If its one hour early, I split the difference. I run an errand or two, then get LO like an hour early. If its several hours, I go to the gym aloooooone and its glorious

I would probably sit in my car for hour trying to decide what I should do and then realize I wasted that hour and go pick up LO.

Go home and take the dog for a nice long walk, just the two of us. Then I would go get LO!

Due to my location, I would go grocery shopping/Target shopping for an hour and then pick up LO. If she was closer to home I would go home and get supper started and house picked up and then go get her!

This happens to me all the time and I always pick up LO first, then I don't have to leave the house again. If I some errands to do I might do that without her!!
