did you for subsequent babies?
Before I had DS I was always worried I wouldn't be able to BF since no one in my family has had success. Then we made it to my goal of one year. Now that I'm ttc #2, I wonder if the next journey will be as easy if/when that time comes.
I know I've heard of mamas who are able to successfully BF #2 after having a hard time the first go around, but are there mamas who run into problems in subsequent journeys? Or was it the same as the first?

I'm nervous about this too but I also feel a lot more at peace with supplanting if I must and many other thins that prior to my son I was so sure would be the end of the world. Maybe it helps seeing so many healthy smart formula fed babies and knowing that I was able to to so with my son? Who knows.

I'm wondering the same thing too! DS was itty bitty so he was formula fed from the get go (plus whatever colostrum/milk I was able to pump the first week until my supply came in). It wasn't until he was 6 weeks old that we decided to give breastfeeding a try (I was EP before that). Fortunately for me, he latched on no problemo. As if he'd been doing it since birth! I felt so happy because no one else in my family breastfed, so I had no idea if I was even going to be able to successfully.
Not sure how BF will go when we have #2!

It was a bit different with #2. She had an upper and lower tongue tie and just was a more sleepy baby so she didn't have the same enthusiasm right from the get-go that #1 had. She never had any problems with weight gain and I just started pulling out her upper lip and nursing went fine. It did catch me by surprise that it was different than #1 and I did worry for a week or so that it wasn't going as smoothly. But I think it was just different. She's 9 months now and is a big baby and a nursing champ.

I had a rough start with LO 1 but things improved and I was able to BF/Pump for 9 months.
BFing is easier with LO 2 but she had vomit issues the first month! I still nurse at night at 15 months...I keep putting off weaning.

Successful with both although different minor issues. DS had difficulty latching the first week or two, but then was smooth sailing until we weaned at 8 month due to being pregnant. DD latched right away but vomited easily so we only eat one side at a time. Going strong at almost 5 months, in fact, she refuses the bottle.

I'm hoping for the reserve and being a mom who can breastfeed the second time after not succeeding with the first. However, I will again not be opposed to FF because my LO has grown up just fine being raised on it.

breastfeeding was out of the question for us, but I was a pumping rockstar for #2.

With LO1, the first three months were horrendous. After that, I went on to BF until he was 13 months with no problems at all.
LO2 is 8 months and we have had zero problems since day 1!

LO 1 wasn't bad just the basic issues if a bad latch etc.
LO 2 seems to be much easier!

-I had trouble with #1 (just lasted a couple of months... had really low supply... then went to 100% FF).
-Did much better with BFing #2. It was only tough for the first week or so. Then after Week 6 she refused bottles and it was all boob, actually... Had mastitis twice, multiple clogged ducts, some supply dips and her ped was always a little worried about her weight, but all ended up fine and resulted in extended BFing til she was almost 2.5 yo. She loved BFing and always was/is a pretty good eater in regards to appetite and variety of foods.
-With #3, I anticipated having a pretty easy time, but I had a pretty difficult 1st month actually. It took a longer time for him to learn how to latch on well, so I was very sore for weeks and pumped a lot. Now it's been 12+ weeks and I'm dealing with some oversupply, and occasional bottle strikes too. However, BFing is overall going well.
Every baby is really different, but I think if you were successful with one baby in the past, you are armed with more experience to help you with any new or repeat obstacles that may come up with subsequent babies.
