Did you worry about winter illnesses? Our hospital has NO visitor policy...ugh. I am more relaxed since this is my 2nd baby, but I told my husband I am going to put my foot down on so many visitors this time.
Our county had flu cases triple in the past couple weeks.

Ds was born late nov in michigan. All grandparenta got dtap and wr had minimal visitors until six wksm thankfully ds didn't get sick until this winter!

@matador84: my hospital officially had a no visitors other than grandparents policy in the postpartum ward, but they did not enforce it at all. But we asked people to stay away. I'm glad we did.

I'm not too worried about it. Most of our potential visitors will have or have had the flu vaccine and TDAP so I think we should be okay!

We had a January baby, I limited visitors to just immediate family (our parents and siblings)- mostly because I just could not handle dealing with people after the birth, if someone came while even slightly sick, I would have lost my shit on them.

Also had a January baby and was really concerned and threw hand sanitizer at anyone who came within 50 feet of LO. We didn't have many visitors which in that sense was kinda good!
Absolutely put your foot down on this, it's too risky with flu flying around, you are doing the right thing.

I had a December baby and I wasn't worried about it.

I had a December baby and didn't worry about it either. I just made sure all visitors washed their hands before holding her.

@matador84: yep! J was born in December in Boston and born with a collapsed lung. We were under strict orders not to bring him out in public places until he was vaccinated at 6 weeks.
