Aside from having to fix my cycles (was getting my period every 2 weeks) and having an HSG the cycle I got my we didn't have more issues than that. If we had trouble the next few times trying to conceive our future children then both DH and I would seek medical intervention. We both want multiple children and are also not opposed to adoption if medical treatment fails. (We've talked it over plus I just asked him again before writing this.)

I would be of the same mind as you. I probably wouldn't seek treatment, I just don't feel strongly enough about having more than one child.

No. We got pregnant the first month twice. The first ended in a mc. We've been trying 5 months for #2. If we don't have a BFP by the end of 1 year we're going to pursue adoption. It's always been art of the plan, we would just move up the timeline.

We wouldn't have done any treatments if we had trouble conceiving the 2nd time around.

I can't really say without having been in the situation, but I don't think I would seek treatment for a second. We do want two kids, but having C made me a mother. Second child or not I'm a mother now, you know? If we only had her I'd still be very happy.

We wouldn't pursue any treatments at all and go straight to adoption via foster care, which we plan to do later anyways.

Yup, we would've. I already had a card of a local IVF office should it have gotten to that point. We definitely want our kids to have siblings.

I would absolutely seek treatment if I had tried a while with no luck. Maybe I'm biased because I had trouble with #1 too and sought treatment pretty quickly for #2 (still working on it). It's super important to me to give LO a sibling and I don't want them really far apart.

I would do ANYTHING to make my dream of another baby come true. Fertility is never a guarantee no matter how many you have. My husband is not on that page so I don't think he will be supportive of IVF or adoption. Clomid or IUI or anything not super expensive or involved would probably be fine with him and I would be willing to go that route. Lets hope it doesn't have to come to that. It's a big fear of mine.

I was going to say no but I think that is just the fact that I have a 15 month old. Really, I think once she gets older if I haven't had another I will have more time and energy to invest into another LO and I might. But it would matter to me how much time, energy, and money. I wouldn't want life to sort of pass me by- meaning that dd is growing up and I'd be "missing" it- putting all my time, money, and energy into IF. (Because I wouldn't be able to not think about it ALL the time.) I guess in the end I just don't know. I would probably at least want to know WHAT was causing the IF if that was possible...

We've recently discussed this and decided that one of the biggest factors in our decision would be the cost.

Like you I had a mc before T and it took a little longer than average to conceive him because of that.

I think I would take some measures like medication or maybe iui but I wouldn't do ivf. Only because of the physical and emotional toll not because I don't support that path.

I dont know... Maybe? I don't think we'd ever go as far as IVF or surrogacy or something super expensive or invasive. I think if we couldn't get pregnant again, I'd rather just foster or adopt. Ive always felt called to that anyway.

@organicmama: has your husband been checked? Has he had an SA done?

@swedishfish: That will be the next step. The RE said typically men's morphology (?? not sure if that's the word she used) doesn't change much. But that if the clomid doesn't work, we need to go ahead with that.

@swedishfish: That's a good point. Of course he would rather not (he actually has almost a phobia of medical offices). But at this point, I'm tired of banging my head against a wall.

We didn't have much trouble getting pregnant w/LO (4 cycles, and we probably only had good timing on 2 of them), so I thought #2 would be as easy... but this month will be Cycle 7 (and we had pretty much perfect timing for at least 5 cycles) so it's taking a little longer than we thought.

I'm disappointed, but not *too* sad (yet) - as much as I want two kids, I'm very happy and content w/my LO. I get a twinge of sadness when I see siblings close in age playing together (she's 2.5 now and we don't want anything more than a 4 year age gap between our kids). I'm not sure how far we will go to have a second... right at this moment, I don't think we will go as far as IUI. I know that feelings can change, though, so I'm not ruling anything out completely until more time passes.
