what would you choose?
For clarification: you have to choose between having a spouse for life (so either married/common law/etc.) but no children.
or
Have a baby, but be single forever (casual partners here and there, but no soul mate-type person)

Tough one but I chose soulmate for life. I could have a pretty awesome life without kids, I'm sure. But life would be tough on my own with a child and no one to share it with.

I could have lived a life without a child if I absolutely had to but going a lifetime without any long term partner would be even more depressing.

I love my son more than I love anyone else in the whole world--except for my DH.

I've wanted to be a mama since I was 4. I couldn't imagine life without a child.

soulmate for sure.
i love my daughter more than words could express but my DH actually makes me even happier. I love him so much and I couldn't imagine life without him.

Soulmate for sure- as long as this means I would be ensured love and happiness forever!

I'm still pregnant with my first, so I can't adequately compare the love I have for DH to the love I have/will have for DD.
I've always wanted to be a mother, but I'd most likely choose to have a soulmate for life. I truly can't imagine my world without DH in it.

Soulmate. Easy choice. The soulmate is with you forever-- a child is only with you until they leave the nest and have busy lives of their own.
Also, I'm not sure I would've wanted (or could've survived) motherhood if I didn't have such a great partner. But I commend and have a TON of admiration and respect for parents who do it alone.

@mrsjazz: @prettylizy: I'm the other baby chooser. I love my husband dearly and he is an amazing husband/father/partner but I have ached for a baby for a very long time and I think I would have always felt incomplete if I never became a mother.

soulmate...if I never had LO in the first place, I wouldn't know what I was missing!

Soulmate. I think it's important for your health to have someone to grow old with.

I love my husband so much and can't imagine life without him. He's my best friend.
But.. I also would have always felt incomplete if I couldn't be a mother. So I'd choose baby.

I can't choose either! Maybe if I'd never had kids and didn't know how much I could love her, I would be able to say soulmate, even though I would have missed having a baby. But now that I have a LO, I couldn't imagine my life without either one of them!

I felt complete having DS. I'd choose baby. If I never had a child I think I'd always feel like something was missing.

I don't have a child so it might be easier now for me to answer than it will be in a few months
but I would choose soulmate. I really think I could have lived without kids and been totally happy and satisfied with my husband and dogs. My life would be lonely and boring without my soulmate!

Soulmate, for sure. But I am so, so lucky and grateful that I don't have to choose
