If you have 2 (or more) of hte same gender and are planning on more children, do you have your heart set on the opposite gender or do you secretly want another of the gender you have?
I have 2 girls, we've decided we will 90% likely got for a 3rd (okay I've decided have to get DH on board) and I secretly want a 3rd girl even though I know he really would like a boy! I know how to raise girls, we have clothes/ect, and I already have another name picked out

We have 2 boys and in my head our 3rd also will be a boy. I tell myself I want another boy too since I know how to deal with them, etc. But I think half of that is self-preservation so that I don't have gender disappointment if it's a boy. My husband wants #3 to be a girl though!

I have two boys and if I had another I would really, really want it to be another boy. I always wanted to be a boy mama. 
I would definitely have gender disappointment if it was a girl. Our families would be beyond thrilled to finally have a little girl, though lol.

@winniebee: This was me exactly! We wanted a third no matter the sex. I kept telling myself it was a boy. That's what we make, that's what we have, and I really would have been totally ok with a boy. The thought of three little boys running around made me so happy. But I would have been happy with a girl because of course I don't have one and all the girl clothes would make me crazy (LOL). DH would be fine with either though a girl makes him a bit nervous.
@LuLu Mom: I don't really think I secretly wanted either. I just tried to prepare myself for both scenarios. Well after two boys, we are getting a girl

We're having a third girl and I couldn't be happier. I have two younger sisters and so does DH so it's what we know. I would have been thrilled to be having a boy, but am absolutely tickled that I get to have three girls. I definitely had a preference for another girl.

I have 2 boys and I love being a boy mom!! DH wants a girl next (and so do our families), but I would be thrilled with another boy. I'd love to experience a daughter, but I'd be equally happy with another boy and I've already started picturing our family as 3 boys.

Dh and I both think we'll have a third boy! While we would love getting to experience having a lil girl, our boys + another boy?! Our hearts just cannot even!!!!!
I think I'm more worried about "letting people down" if we don't have a lil girl; than my own personal gender disappointment.

Part of me wants to experience a bond with a daughter and seeing my two boys be protective of her. However, I will be just as happy with another boy! I am obsessed with the 2 that I have

we won't be having a third..but I'd be totally thrilled with either. I love being a girl mom, I know girls, mine are the 3rd and 4th I've been with full time (I nannied two from infancy and birth for several years). however, part of me aches to never have a mama's boy, dance with my son at his wedding, etc.

I love my two girls and we'd be happy with a third girl as well but I do think I would be a little sad to never have a little boy. DH doesn't care either way because all the things he loves to do, he already does with our DD1!

We have 2 girls and are trying for our third. I really want another girl, and dh reallllllllllly wants a son. He was researching all these things on how to get a boy haha. I'll be happy with either, but I just love girls

We have 2 boys and I just assume a third would also be a boy but I don't know that it's a preference necessarily. I would love a girl too but feel like it would be more work...different clothes and activities and omg the teenage years. Maybe in the long run it would be nice to have a girl because I see too many men that are not as close with their parents when they are older. I guess it would just be too hard to decide and luckily I would never have to make that choice!

We have two girls, and it honestly don't have a preference for our (hypothetical) third. It would be fun to have a boy, but it's hard to imagine after the two girls, and I've loved being their mama.

Initially I had a strong preference for a third girl, as I love having two little girls and thought three would be awesome! And then we hit 'threenager' hell with DD1 and I am now getting a glimpse of the adolescent years in our household....and it is not pretty!
That being said, I have a slight preference for a boy, mainly because I see such sweet little boys in DD's preschool class and I would love to experience being a boy mama, but DH has a slight preference for another girl as he loves his little daddy's girls!
