...How much do you pay them per hour? I had a cleaning lady come a few times for really big cleans and I paid her $100 for about 3 hours of work. Next year I'd like to get regular cleanings but I don't want to pay $100/visit and I don't think the same amount of work is necessary when the visits are happening more often.

This will vary a lot by location. I know here in NYC, people I know pay from $80-$150+ depending on the size of the apartment.

We pay $100 per visit, she's here for four hours. Our house is four bedrooms two baths. She doesn't do the basement.

We pay $160 for 2.5-3hours of work from a team of two every two weeks. I don't love paying it, but that amount of time is necessary every two weeks for all the things I want them to do.

I have 2 ladies that come every 3 weeks. It usually takes them 3 hours to clean our house. $40/hr - 120ish+ tip.

I pay $50/hr for 2 people. They're here for 2.5 hours (about once a month) and clean 2.5 bathrooms, kitchen, dust the rooms and vacuum.

At our old place- one bed one bath- it was $80 for once a month. That seemed a little on the high side. They came while we were at work so I don't know how long they were there or how many people it was.
We've had a lady come here to our 2 bed 2 bath that charged $70, which is cheap, but I don't think she did as thorough of a job. It should be slightly less if you are doing t more frequently, I would think.

I wasn't given an hourly quote. They came to my home and did an estimate based on rooms/sf. We pay about $250 a month ($125 per cleaning). It usually takes one woman about 4 hours and if they send a team of 2, it takes less time than that.

We pay $140 biweekly for 5 hours and I would eat less or sell my body to pay for her if I had to. She is wonderful and worth every penny. I haven't cleaned a toliet or a bathtub in over a year!

we have a woman who came to see our house and gave us an estimate. She comes every-other week. $100 for a 4 bedroom, 3.5 bath house (though the reality is that she only cleans 2 bedrooms and 2.5 baths about 80% of the time since the other is the guest room).
I want her to come every week, but she won't reduce the price at all, and I can't spend $400/month. -
I pay my cleaning lady $100 every other week. She's there somewhere between 3-4 hours, she's got to clean the full house each time, she might not need to put in any elbow grease, but it's still a lot of surface to cover.
I think a lot of people won't come out unless it's worth their time.

We pay by sq ft not hourly. $80 every visit (she comes every other week) and she usually cleans for about 4 hours. Our house is 2200 sq ft.

$110/visit 1x a month for 2000 sq feet. $160 if they do the basement. It's a woman, her husband and their daughter- it is usually 2 of them for about 2 hours so $25/hr ish.

I live in Silicon Valley (just outside the San Francisco area) and have paid $75 for two hours to do a deep clean on a ~600sq ft apartment.
We were originally quoted $50 but they did a really thorough job because we had a mouse in the house and I had them sanitize all the places where the mouse had been because I was 16 weeks pregnant.

My mom and now my sister clean houses as a side job. They don't charge by the hour. They look at the size of the house and what the person wants clean and charge that way. I would say most of the houses take about 4 hours or so and they probably charge about 125 - 150. And this is going every 2 weeks. They also are there to clean and not pick up the house. People will pay extra if they want something specific or a deeper clean (windows, etc) done.

We also pay per visit not per hour. The woman bases it on the size of the house, and what we're asking her to do (deep cleaning is more than regular cleaning). She also said it would be less if she comes more often because it wouldn't be as much work. I think we pay $150 for her to come once a month? That's for a 3 bed, 2.5 bath house.

We've paid between $65 and $90 per bi-weekly session depending on what the cleaning person asked for. Each of them came by the house and gave us an estimate and we just paid what they asked. I've not had good luck with individuals because they eventually disappear on us, so we are currently with a cleaning company.

3,000 sq ft...most quotes I get are $90-$120 per visit which is a team of 2 for 3 hours (6 hours) or 3 for 2 hours (6 hours)...this is for every 3 weeks.

We have an individual person and we pay $100 bi-weekly. Our house is 1900 sq ft, 4 bdrms, 3 bath and we are in Southern CA. I personally think it's a good price, she does a great job, we really like her as a person, and she's very trustworthy (She starts with the upstairs and when she starts the downstairs I leave the house with the babies as not to get in her way).

I'm outside Toronto, and I pay $113 (including tax (for 2 people to clean for 2 hours). They come every other week and that seems to be plenty of time.

@ShootingStar: We have a lady that come once a month and she charges $90 per visit for approx 1,800sf. Her daughter just joined her so we still pay the same but she is done much quicker which means she can do more clients.

We pay $87 for cleanings. Two ladies come and it takes them no more than two hours.

$90 for 4 hours, we have a 1200 sq foot condo, 2 BR & 2 Baths. Sounds like our lady is slow, some of the times above are for more bedrooms!!

@ShootingStar: our first clean was $100 cause she deep cleaned everything. Then when we booked her to come every other week, it dropped to $70. She's here about 2-3 hours, sometimes brings another person with her.
