What do you do when you are out?
S has always had pretty high sleep needs. She takes 3 solid 1-2hr naps per day and can stay awake for around 1.5-2hrs between them. She takes almost all of her naps in her crib unless we're at my parent's house where she has a travel cot set up, or the car seat if the journey is longer than half an hour. I can at a push get her to nap for short periods (15-20mins) on my shoulder or in the ergo if we're out. But then she wakes up more cranky than before!
We have tried a few times to get her to nap in her pram, reclined flat, she just cries...we've tried taking her somewhere in the car seat...nope, still cries.
So I'm just wondering what other people do. It feels like we're really confined to the house at the moment because after 2hrs of awake time (which isn't long enough to get her fed, changed, ready to go out and actually do much!) she melts down and we spend the rest of our time trying to calm her or get her to sleep on us. Should we keep trying to get her to nap when we're out so we can still go places or should we just stay in as much as we can and stick to her schedule? Did anyone start off with a baby like this that you trained to nap on the go?
