I almost always exclusively talk to the female member of the couple (they tend to be the ones I was friends with first), and never cc their partner. Usually when we plan events, the ladies are always the ones planning it and then we just tell us guys when they have to show up.

We don't email, we call. I usually make DH do it.

I email the girl. I've never thought of cc'ing the guys. I don't have all their emails.

I put them both in the main To line and cc the hubby.

I do what @Alivo01 does - all in the main and cc hubs.

Usually I just email the ladies. We're pretty much in charge of the social calendars anyways.

I always just email the lady and we sort it out. My hubs has no problem with me making social plans for us so that works. And it seems that most of my friends' husband feel the same (or the friend will specifically tell me they need to clear the date/time with their spouse and they'll get back to me). The only time I email the boys if it's something specific I have to ask THEM. For instance, my friend was helping me with some estate attorney suggestions recently so he and I just emailed directly, I didn't cc his wife.

I do the exact same thing. If I email the girl, I don't cc the guy. I just coordinate with the girl directly and we both just tell our husbands separately. But if I email the guy (like in situations where I know the guy better than the girl), I always cc the girl AND my husband. Probably for the same reason you listed... to be respectful of their relationship and not send the wrong message. Even though it's COMPLETELY harmless and innocent, you never know how the other person will react!
