do you have a rug under your bed?
If so where? The whole bed - the lower half and it extends out?
or maybe next to your bed?

We have laminate and we have a rug in front of our bed. I prefer that so we can vacuum under the bed. It's much easier sticking the wand under your bed to catch all the dust/human/dog hair on a hard surface versus carpet.

I grew up with hardwoods in bedrooms and we had rugs next to the bed like where your feet hit the floor.
I guess I have something similar in one of our guest rooms. In the other, the parquet was in such bad shape we put down a random rug we had that covers most of the floor in the room.

Our bedroom isn't huge so we don't have much space around the bed, so we just never have gotten one.

We have a 9x12 rug under the bed, the bed is basically floating on top of it. The nightstands are not on the rug, though.

@Mamaof2: Not even a runner. Maybe like 3 or 4 feet wide. Slightly larger than a door mat but not as big as a runner.

@Smurfette: Our bedroom is above the garage so its hot as crap in the summer - no need for a rug and freezing in the winter - I want a rug! LOL

@Mamaof2: I get that. Our room was an addition, so it isn't as warm as the rest of the house. If we ever get one, I will do it half under the bed.

We have a rug under the bed - and it comes out maybe 1.5 ft from the end of the bed. Our night stands are not on the rug.

We have a rug under most of the bed that extends to the front of it- the nightstands are not on it. My husband felt strongly about the coziness of a rug next to the bed and now that we have it, I agree. It also adds to the look of the room.

No, but I want to get one eventually. Need to buy new furniture first.

Our whole apartment is hardwood and we don't have any rugs. I really dislike them!

We have hardwoods in our bedroom but no rug yet. I don't really want small ones because I feel like they will slide around too much. I'd like a really big one to go under the bed, but they are so $$$! We don't spend much time in our room so I don't miss having a rug that much.

Our bedroom is pretty big. We have hardwood floors and nothing under the bed but we put a small area rug on the bigger side of the room with chairs to make a little sitting area. We're slippers kinda people so cold floors in the morning don't bother us.

We have a big rug next to the bed, but it's on DH's side. I usually just make sure I can step into slippers when I get up, especially in the winter!

It is under like, the lower 2/3 of the bed. It extends on each side and about 3-4' at the bottom (right to our closets)

We don't have a rug under ours. Yes, the floor is a little cold, but we have a dog who sheds like crazy, and I feel like carpet is never clean. If we didn't have the dog, I'd probably get an area rug that was slightly larger than the size of the bed.

We put a rug under ours which extends about 18" around and I love it. Adds a nice cozy element while keeping most of the hardwood look. Looked long and hard for a rug we love, it's a subtle pattern with a basic color scheme.

@lamariniere: Do you have an entry rug? I have an organic cotton one that I wash weekly but it still looks always dirty

Nope. The only rug in our house is in the baby's room. Everything else is wood or tile.

We have three thick wool shag rugs, one on each side of the bed and one at the foot. Nothing underneath the bed but flat storage boxes (my wedding dress is there, for example!). We couldn't use that space for storage if we had a rug (our bed frame doesn't have enough clearance). Plus we love the coziness and the sound dampening factor of thick rugs. When LO was a newborn and sleeping in our room we didn't feel so bad about our downstairs neighbor hearing her frequent cries all night because the rugs are great sound insulation!

@Greentea: nope! We have a built in doormat outside of our front door, and that's it!
