How many typically show up? I know this depends on how well you know the parents and the school itself. I'm curious what it's like at your school, though. At our old school, we typically had 5-6 show up.

We've invited the entire class 3x so far and it's been good turn outs, about 90% RSVP'd Yes.

We invited the in home daycare to LO's 3rd birthday. It turned out to be 16 kids, about 6 more than I expected. Every single one RSVPed yes and showed. I had never even heard of some of those kids. I planned to have a B list for my friends' kids but we were maxed out as it was. Nice to meet all the daycare parents though.

@mediagirl: everyone we invited with the exception of two showed up. One was because the parent is a single mom and the older sibling was sick. It was DD's BFF so she was pretty bummed. But I also did not invite the whole class (20 kids) and just invited the 9 she is closest to and talks about the most. They've also been in the same daycare since she was 7 weeks old.
We also had kids in our family and friend's kids and were maxed out on the # of kids allowed at the party room.

We always invite the entire class (maybe like 20 total, including PT kids) and have never had more than 5 actually come. Being a summer baby in New England, I'm not surprised - good weekends are precious time!!

I didn't have a birthday party for LO last year, but we have gotten invited to 2 daycare birthday parties and didn't go to either. One the invite was stuck int he bottom on LO's mailbox so I didn't even see it until it was over

@regberadaisy: I'm kind of nervous about a bunch of extra kids showing up. Last year we invited 8 and 4 showed up. He's in between classrooms this year, so we ended up inviting a ton of kids.

@kiddosc: yikes - good luck! I would've been nervous too. We have a capacity max because of fire code at the party room.

We invited his class of 8 kids, and 5 showed up. I also decided last minute to invite them and only gave one week notice. We just went to a birthday party last night, and the whole class came except for 1 classmate. Invitations were sent out on Monday.
