When did you move them? DS will be 3 in September and still seems very happy in his crib. Has never mentioned wanting a bed. Is there an age it's developmentally important to transition him by?

We modified LO 1's crib into a toddler bed two months before she turned 3 and she moved into twin bed about 2 months before she was 3.5. She never asked to move and wasn't a climber but the timing seemed right for us.

@SeptMomma12: I think the biggest reason for moving is that once potty trained they should be able to get out bed alone to use the potty - cant do that when in a crib

@Mamaof2: We're planning to do the 3-day potty training in two weeks. Would it be crazy to do it at the same time?

My sister moved my nephew after 3. He just liked his crib. She finally moved him because he could no longer stretch out in the crib- tall toddler and a stokke oval crib that's a bit smaller than most. I think he was even potty trained before that, but she still put him in a diaper at night just in case. He would just call when he had to go to the bathroom.

My DS also has a sept bday - he PT'd the June before and we put him in a big bed in Sept - right at 3 -
My son is 33 months now and we switched him to a twin just a couple months ago. No reason I just thought it was time and I needed to put dd in the crib. No problems at all, it was a simple transition.

We transitioned DS at 33 months. He was potty trained at 30 months, but wore diapers for sleeping until about 32 months. We needed the crib for LO2 and I wanted to be sure to transition a few months beforehand.
