How long did it take for you to start bleeding? I found out last Wednesday that my numbers didn't double and I still have no spotting or bleeding. My HCG was at 51 that day. I can't go back for another draw until Thursday because I'm away for the holidays.

Took me two weeks. Sorry you are going through this - we had to deal with it over Thanksgiving three years ago and it was awful.

My BFF went through this 2.5 weeks ago - she actually went to the ER with her paperwork and asked for D&C. They ended up giving her something like the morning after pill to induce the m/c and it started that night after she took them.

@travellingbee: it took me just over a week. My hcg was almost a thousand at its peak, I think.

Once it fell to 0 I started to bleed within a day or so. I'm sorry you're going through this :-(.

I started spotting the same day I got my second beta results. It didn't get heavy for at least another couple of days. With my first I had already started bleeding, but they gave me the pills too anyway. The cramps and all sucked, but it got the job done. So you could ask for that once you can get to a doctor.

I started bleeding three days after my second beta (it was a 12, down from 42).

My beta dropped to 2, and I didn't bleed for another week. My OBsaid if I got to 10 days we'd discuss options, but I did bleed a week later and it was horribly heavy and painful.

The last one my hcg only got to 23 and I started 3 days after that second beta. I guess I assumed it would take longer this time but wasn't sure how long.

With the last one, my first beta was 60, second 88, third was 76.. and it took about two weeks to lose that pregnancy officially. It was hell.

The last beta I had before I found out it wasn't doubling was in the 400's. I found out it wasn't doubling on a Thursday, had another beta of 330 on the following Monday, then miscarried that night. I'm sorry your going through this, and hope you can get passed this quickly.

I had an ultrasound just shy of 6 weeks and they discovered an empty yolk sac. Went for blood tests several times over a week and they discovered that my hormone levels were not dropping at all. So after waiting another week and having another ultrasound to confirm, I ended up using misoprostol to induce a miscarriage because at the rate my levels were dropping, it could have taken a long time for it to happen naturally.

Had an ultrasound at 6w3d with an empty sac (blighted ovum.) HCG was 3435. Two days later, my HCG was 4034 as I started miscarrying. So, I started miscarrying despite rising HCG levels.
I suspect I had very low / slow-rising HCG levels the entire time, because I never got a 3+ on a Clearblue digi HPT, even thought I took them like twice a week up through week 6.

Sorry I don't remember the HCG level but it was like 350 and then only went up to 500 the next draw and then it went down. I started spotting within a week but nothing else happened for 2 weeks and then it happened all at once within 2 hours I'd say.

Thanks all. I'm confused as I took a test tonight at 21 dpo (5 weeks) thinking Id see a faded line but it was much darker. I'll post a pic. I'm worried that this means it will take longer or that it's ectopic. I also can't help hoping it is somehow a miracle but I realize that is incredibly unlikely... This is messing with my head. I don't know what to think and won't have betas done again until Thursday morning.

@MuzzyBee: First was 40 then only 51. They said, miscarriage or possibly ectopic. So I've been waiting for my next draw to see what happens. Thought I would've started bleeding around now but no sign of miscarrying yet.
@Mrs. Jump Rope: hmmm... No idea. I'm in a small town at my ILs until Wednesday afternoon.

I'm sorry you are going through this and that dark line is confusing too. Hang in there.
My betas were 68 and 72 in my first pregnancy and it was 3 weeks after the second bets that I had my mc. I was getting impatient towards the end and doing a lot of physical activity like long, fast walks to bring it on. I had a night of bad cramps and then the second night the cramps escalated and I started bleeding.

@travellingbee: wow, that's a super dark line!!! I've been following your updates and am hoping for a miracle... I'm also 21 dpo and my line isn't as dark as yours, but I didn't have betas done so I have no clue how my pregnancy is going. Can you get in for another beta today??

I would definitely call your doctor and see what he/she recommends regarding what to do...if it is ectopic I would think that would need to be dealt with asap so it doesn't cause damage, right? If you have any pain at all and can't get ahold of your doctor I would head to the ER to rule it out...To answer your original question, my first beta was 28 and my second was 16. I started bleeding the night of my second beta.

I'm so praying for your miracle! With my mc my last beta was over 300. It took 3 weeks to mc. I started bleeding the morning of my d and c.

@Mrs. Lion: yeah they wanted to do betas yesterday but I'm out of town. They said to stay near an ER just in case. No pain now except in my boobs!
I stopped taking my progesterone when they told me that I would miscarry as I was afraid it'd prolong it. Now I'm freaked out. I left it home so I can't just start taking it.
I'm worried that it's ectopic. I'm worried that it's rising but not normal and just prolonging the misery. I'm worried about everything.

@delight: yeah that's what I'm guessing... Rising but abnormal numbers are just delaying the miscarriage.

the uncertainty is the worst! Would calling your OB give you some peace of mind? Maybe they can give you advice on what you should do since you are out of town. I hope you get some answers very soon!

@travellingbee: really hoping for a miracle for you! You saw my tests and mine today was completely faint, almost neg, so I feel like maybe you have a chance since yours are so dark! Mine went faint in 2 days!
