My friend's SIL wanted a daughter really badly after 3 boys and finally got her daughter with her fourth. I would be done after 2 no matter what!
I know many of you ladies want 3+ kids. But if you knew they would all be the same sex, would you still want 3+? And would you prefer boys or girls?

We want 3 and although we would like a boy at some point, DH did say he'd be fine with all girls. I would be bummed but I love DD so I think we'd be fine.

I would be cool having one or even two more girls though I have read that three and four girls are significantly harder! yikes. I know this is true as one of four girls in my family.....:) I would be fine with boys too.. i think.. but we definitely know the girl thing.

If they were boys, I think? I'd be more scared of 3+ teenage girls...all of those prom/homecoming/wedding dresses, for one thing. Plus all the teenage-girl drama.
But to be honest, if I had 2 kids and knew the 3rd would be the same sex I'd probably just not have a third.

when I was planning my family I never would have dreamed I would have four. But now that I have them I love having a big family. My three boys test my patience and drive me crazy but they are everything to me and I love them more than anything. I am not sure how I would have felt if my fourth was a boy but I knew before I got pregnant that it would be the last time boy or girl.

We are working on our second boy, and want three kids regardless of gender. I'd be totally happy with all boys, we would not try for a fourth to have a girl.

I'm good with 2, regardless of gender! I slightly favor having 2 boys over having a girl next. I'd be thrilled either way though!

We are planning on having 3 kids and already have a girl. I would be fine having all girls, but if we had had 3 boys I would have probably have wanted to try once more for a girl.

I want three children but I want, ideally, two girls and one boy. If our second is a boy, I might stop at two (one boy is enough for me!).... and if I knew 100% that we could only have girls I would definitely stop at two.

Nope! We already have 2 girls so we are stopping. We only wanted 2 kids anyway, but having 2 girls sealed the deal. I wanted 2 girls, since we're only having 2, but 3 girls is another story.

I'm way too afraid of turning into my grandmother! She wanted a girl soooooooooo badly and had FIVE BOYS before she finally had a girl! And then she thought her luck had changed and ended up having TWO MORE BOYS!
So even though I REALLY want a boy and a girl, I'm done after two!! I'd be too scared to keep trying for a different gender, haha.

I would be happy to have three of the same sex - no real preference, although if forced to make a decision, I'd give a slight preference to three girls!
Ideally, I'd like the same mix as my mom had with us, two girls and then a boy. We'll see what LO #2 is in 15 weeks or so, another DD would put us right on track!

I want two kids, and I'm happy with two boys. DH's highly accurate fortune telling uncle says that we have the ability to have 5 kids. 4 boys....

Well, since I ideally want 4 girls, I would still keep having babies!
If I could only have boys though, I think I still would. I grew up with just 1 sibling, and was super jealous of big families

We're done at 2, but I sometimes think about a third. I woul love to have a boy. I think Mr. Jacks would prefer another girl. In adoption, though, boys are generally more available, so I think it wouldn't be hard to have a boy.

Yes. I still want 3 and if all 3 are girls, then so be it. I think it's very dangerous to bank on a certain gender for your last kid if you don't really want that many kids.

My thoughts might change at some point but right now I am only borderline on wanting 3 kids and if I knew they were going to be all one gender I would stop at two. I would love to have one of each and if we have two of one gender I could see us going for a third knowing that it is a gamble.

@char54: I agree-I do feel lucky! Though, there were times where I wanted to (and still want to, actually) pull my hair out because of my sisters. But it's so much fun now that we're older!

For some reason when I picture having three I actually prefer them all same gendered, girl or boy. I guess from knowing adorable families of three that fall into the category. Three boys sure sound like a handful though.

Unless we win the lottery, our absolute maximum is three. I would looooove a son, but after having DD, I could probably do this two more times....and just ship myself off to the Bermuda triangle during the teen years.

I feel like I can't honestly answer this question because I feel I won the gender lottery by having exactly what I wanted... a boy first, then a girl. So my answer is "sure!" but I'm sure I'd feel differently if I had two boys or two girls!!

My dream family is me and DH with 3 daughters. But, we are still deciding on if we will have #2! I think there may be some gender disappointment if we find out that we are having a son, so that's sort of why we are holding off...we want to get over that now!

Only if they were 3 girls! (no offense to moms of boys, boys are great too but I dont think I could handle 3 boys)

If I wanted three then I would have three. Period. Children are unique. Same sex doesn't equal same child or experience.
