If you kept your baby in your room for longer than the first month or two, what did they sleep in? Planning to have baby 2 in our room in a bassinet or rnp probably, until she is sleeping well enough to share a room with big sister, which will almost definitely be longer than the 6 weeks big sister was in our room. Wondering if the UB bassinet will be too small for her after a certain point and what people usually transition to. Pnp? There isn't room for the full size crib- really hardly even room for the regular pnp.

My DS was generally big but he was too big for a moses basket by about 3.5 months. We could have squished him in longer but he kept waking himself up by hitting the sides! Moved to a regular cot in our bedroom, it took up all the space but was our only option!

My LO was in her RnP in our room until 4 months, and that worked great for us. But at 4 months she needed to be transitioned out of the RnP but was still not sleeping well enough to share a room with a toddler. Would something like the lotus crib fit in your room?

We started with the rnp for the first two months. Then a pack n play with the bassinet add on from 2-5ish months. Now that he is above the weight limit for the pnp, we have his crib in our room at 6 months.

I had my girls in an arms reach cosleeper next to our bed until five months. The UBV bassinet was too small after three months.

@Truth Bombs: the lotus crib is really low, right? We have a regular pack and play already so i would squeeze that in before getting a lotus anyway, if I have to.
How about a mini crib- how long can most babies fit in that? A friend has one I could probably borrow.
C was always a pretty small infant, percentile wise, but most babies in my family are pretty tall so who know what this one will be.

@Foodnerd81: yeah the lowness would be my concern with the lotus. Is a mini crib really smaller than an PnP? I would just go with the PnP if you're able to cram it in there.

@Truth Bombs: not sure actually, but I think my friends was a little smaller (her huge baby outgrew it really fast and moved to a pnp, but she has giant babies).

After the rnp we've been co-sleeping tho my intention WAS to put her in the pnp and she was there for a little while.

We used PNP with newborn napper. My kids are small though.

We used the bassinet portion of the PnP for about 7 months. He never liked the RnP, so we gave up on that pretty early.

We roomshared for 10 months.
The first few weeks, we bed shared. Then, DH built a nice co-sleeper that snugged up to my side of the bed. She slept in that until she was about 5-6 months. Once she was able to roll, we used the pnp with the top level bed thing. I liked that she was still high up.
Once she could pull up (around 8 months, probably), we put her in the bottom of the pnp.
Around 10 months, we were waking her up when we'd come to bed, and she was keeping us up. We decided it was time for her to use her crib in her room.
Finally slept through the night consistently at 18 months!!!

DS was in our room for the first 6 months and he normally slept in the Rock and play.

We had a really large masters bedroom in our old town home so we set up her "nursery" in the masters. The other two rooms were an office and guest room so it worked out well.
She slept in her crib since day 1 but we room shared until we moved at 15 months. We moved into my parents home and continued to room share (they had a second masters unit) until our home was being built. We moved out at 27 months and she finally got a big girl room and bed.
Not sure what to do when number2 comes in Feb.

We kept Logan in a bassinet until he was too big and then we put him in the pack 'n play.

We room shared for a couple months with both kids, LO1 was about 4 months, LO2 about 2 months (she was being woken by us). We used an heirloom cradle that I had fixed up.

We've bedshared since birth, so space wasn't a problem there. My friend still room shares with her LO at 18 months. She used an arm's reach co-sleeper until 7-8 months then transitioned to a mini crib. I think her daughter is just now growing out of that.

Thanks for all these responses! We will probably move by the time she is 8 months or so but I am crossing my fingers she will be a good sleeper and they can share before that (crossing my fingers but not holding my breath!).

We had a mini crib in our room next to the bed until he was about 8 months. He still sleeps in it, now in his own room. It's.about the same size as a PNP

Our ped recommended she sleep with us for 6 months. We're moving into our new house next month when she's 6 months. DH just moved her crib into our bedroom and commandeered the nursery as a loading zone for boxes, so it works lol. That was at 4 months. Previously, she slept in a bassinet next to the bed. Shes 13th percentile for weight and twenty-something for length. We plan to start her right in her own room after we get somewhat settled on the house (hopefully another month of room sharing).
