I started #2 with oatmeal cereal at 5 months - she's still mostly uninterested in it (2 weeks later) but will eat some banana, avocado, sweet potato from our plates. I don't think solids are important at this age - but I'll continue to offer.

We started with brown rice or oatmeal cereal at 4 months and she took to it pretty quickly - I found that I had to make it thicker for her to really like it though. I started with it pretty watery and she didn't really want that lol. After a few months, I started mixing it with purees instead of breastmilk and she still eats it mixed with applesauce or sweet potato puree now at 14 months (pediatrician recommended to continue with it because she has low iron) I know some babies who didn't really want solids much at all the first whole year, though. I think they will eat once they are ready and want it. My mom claims that I only wanted barley cereal, my older brother only wanted oatmeal cereal, and my little brother only wanted rice cereal so maybe try different kinds too

She liked it but we only did it a week, tops, and then went to oatmeal. She was 5.5 months.
