...did you do anything to affix the changing pad to the top? From what I've seen, most changing pads (including ours) have anti-slip grips on the bottom, but I don't know if that is enough. Did you do something to attach the changing pad more securely, or did it stay well enough on its own?

I didn't but once LO got squirmy and moving around I never left her up there unsupervised.

Ours came with hooks to secure to the back of the dresser

We put a non slip pad (like you would or under a rug) under the pad. It's never been an issue and she's pretty squirmy.

We also used a non slip pad underneath. It worked well, but unfortunately left marks on the top of the dresser (dark wood dresser).

We used a non-slip grip pad. It's never been a problem. It came with hooks for the back of the dresser but the screws were too long (the back is 1/4" plywood).

@MrsBananaGrabber: ours had snaps, the naturpedic one is nice and worth it, and we screwed the back of the snaps on to the back of the dresser. Then you can snap it securely on. It doesn't move at all. I would definitely secure it.

We did not attach it and it did not have anything on the bottom for anti slip. I guess we are rebels.

Ours came with straps for securing to the dresser but we never did, and I never noticed the pad slipping. I'm actually glad we didn't secure it though, because we just keep the pad on the floor now that LO likes to fling himself off of furniture.

It stayed on its own. Never slipped!

I had my uncle build us a changing pad tray based on this diy instruction and painted it to match the dresser top. I just thought it looked nicer, but it's been great since my LO wiggled a lot. The back posts he made were so long, it's been enough just wedged between the wall and dresser - has never moved an inch! http://laybabylay.com/project-changing-pad-tray

No we use a Keekaroo changing pad (best thing EVER, worth every penny) and it never slid around

I used one of those solid surface kind of pads, like a Keekaroo, so it didn't move around. But I also had one hand on my son at all times while changing him.

Ours isn't affixed and is sliding around. We are going to get one of those non slip pads from Michaels one of these days when we can get out the house

We bought a changing tray with our dresser that holds the mat in place and has storage space for toiletries, etc. because i was uncomfortable with the thought of the mat just floating on the dresser. My husband isn't convinced it was necessary, but for $100, it makes me feel more secure. Our changing pad did come with straps to secure it to the dresser, but I haven't used them because we also have the tray.

Ours had a strap that screwed to the back of the dresser.

It came with a strap so we fastened it do the back of the dresser (just an ikea one). I also added a non slip pad under it to keep it from shifting.
