Did you have a boy?? All of my friends who used OPKs had a boy! Coincidence?

You use an OPK the same way you use a home pregnancy test - it's just a stick you pee on that tells you if a hormone is present. Saying that using an OPK means you're more likely to have a boy makes as much sense as saying that using a home pregnancy test means you're more likely to have a girl.
So yes... just a coincidence

Actually google shettles method and it'll explain it. The theory is to have a boy you want to have sex the day if not the day after you ovulate since boy sperm are faster but die easier. If you want a girl you should DTD a few days before since they are slower but live longer.
So if they're having sex as soon as they find out they're ovulating, they should, in theory, be more likely to have a boy.

Oh, and I know MULTIPLE couples that have successfully used the Shettles method to "choose" the sex of their baby.

Used OPKs for #2 and had a girl! I think we conceived close to ovulation too, so the Shettles theory wasn't true for us in the end.

I used OPKs and had a boy. We only managed to have sex once, 2 days before ovulation.

@luckypenny: yeah. One was so determined to have a girl they would stop having sex 6 days before she ovulated. It took 6 months to get pregnant, but she had a girl!

We used OPKs and we're having a boy. We had sex twice around ovulation- on ovulation day and 2 days before ovulation.

We used OPK's for our first and the SMEP and had a little gir.

We used OPKs and are having a boy. We DTD 1 day on, 2 days off. According to my calendar, we DTD the day before I ovulated and 2 days after I ovulated.
