Yup, when I wore Lo before he was mobile, he just stayed in the moby/ergo, or on my lap while I ate/hung out/etc. At that age hopefully she'll just sleep the whole time though! Or maybe you can pass her around at lunch so you get some hands free time?

I've been thinking about this too since I have some Dr.'s appts to go to in the next few weeks and I'll have to bring LO on the subway or bus. The Ergo would be much easier for traveling but once I'm there I will need to take him out, so I might just use the stroller anyway.

@Foodnerd81: lol! Yeah, my LO is not a fan of the car either. Or sleep. I don't wear her too often any more for this reason, because she isn't content to stay in there very long, and then I'd have to take her out and hold her,... and then how do I eat?!

I've actually stopped taking her to as many places because of her hatred for the car seat. I can't just plop her in there and expect her to be happy through lunch. Dang!

I just wear her through the meal or whatever. She will sleep in the carrier in restaurant noise though, usually. If she wakes and gets squirmy I take her out and hold her. It was a bit tougher if she woke up at your LOs age because she was harder to entertain, but nursing would always work. Especially because you're going to a mom group everyone will understand.

At that age I would either wear my daughter through the meal, or occasionally put her down on a blanket on the seat next to me (if sitting in a booth/bench style seat and i could block her into a corner next to me). I bet other moms who live closer might bring strollers, so chances are good that if you need a hand, someone else will have free hands to hold your LO while theirs sleeps, OR, you could place LO in their stroller while their child is eating/being held.

You probably already figured this out for today but I would wear her and am a friend with an older baby if you can borrow a stroller while their baby is in a high chair. I hope you had fun!

@Foodnerd81: I literally just LOLed recalling my first solo outing at around 2 weeks PP to BRU and Target. I went into BRU and there were all these moms with teeny babies about J's age in carriers and I kept going up to them asking questions about the carriers and being like DON'T WORRY I HAVE A BABY TOO! I was so awkward.
