What did they sleep in? LO1 was in her crib from day one last time but we lived in a tiny apartment and it was basically like we were in her room anyway.
This time we have a house and I'm not sure if I want to have lo2 in his separate room right from the start. What are my options here??

Our bed. Still sleeping in our bed but I want her out...and she refuses to sleep in a crib.

DS co-slept with me until he was about 12 weeks. It was surprisingly easy to transition him to the crib after that. I'm hoping LO #2 will be the same way.

We had an Arms Reach Cosleeper. Perfect, because he started out every night in the cosleeper, and basically ended up in bed with us around midnight to 2 am. Then at 6 months we cold-turkeyed him in his own crib/room, and he transitioned really well, all said and done.

PNP. It worked well because she was used to sleeping on a flat surface so the transition to the crib was seamless (we transitioned her at 3.5 months).

First we used the bassinet in the pack n play. Then we used her swing because she wouldn't sleep anywhere else. Then we used just the pack n play. We got desperate and moved her crib into our room and she did that for a while. But then sleep got so bad, she ended up in our bed. So as you can see, the possibilities are endless! Lol. Maybe you can put the crib in your room again, if it will fit?

We tried to start with the arms reach cosleeper but he absolutely hated it, we tried for the first four weeks, but he wouldn't sleep longer than 15-30 minute increments in it so we just moved him to our bed. We transitioned him to his own crib in his own room when he was about 4 months old

RnP beside our bed until 5ish months. He had virtually no issues transitioning to the crib.

We did the pack n play with bassinet and it worked well for her the first few months, then we were able to use it for travel as a regular pack and play too. We got one of the more basic options but it was fine--I don't think you need all the bells and whistles.

We had a tiny bassinet that was at my bedside with a caddy and night light on the side table to make night feedings easy for both of us. Though we transitioned to the nursery crib around 6 weeks.

@MamaCate: awesome. We have a pack and play with bassinet but we never used it. Maybe I'll set it up and see what it's like. Isn't the sleeping surface super hard? Maybe that's just mine? it feels like concrete!

We used a pack n' play. I bought a separate thicker mattress for the top part, and it was perfect. She slept in that until about last week (6 weeks old).

Wooden cradle that her grandpa made. She was only in our room about 3 weeks and then moved to her own crib.

RnP first month. Then Arms Reach CoSleeper attached to bed for second month. At 8.5 weeks we put him in his crib for sleep and naps and haven't looked back. He refuses to sleep in our bed the few times I've tried.

We started with the Arms Reach, but she has silent reflux and would grunt for bout 4 hours a night and never sleep more than 1-2 hours, so we transitioned to the Rnp. She now sleeps much better. The Arms Reach is now the grestest beside-bed storage item ever

@yellowbird: we never added any extra padding and it was fine (used bassinet first, then regular bottom)...but they do make mattresses for it, they're just not quite as safe I don't think (but I know lots of people have them.)

@yellowbird: it is pretty hard but the baby doesn't really weigh anything at the beginning! When she started seeming too big for it, we moved to her room. If you have one already, why not start with that?

Pack n play twin bassinet, although Alice slept about half the time in the swing in our room.

We did crib from the 2nd day on with DD, but I slept in her room for at least the first week. With this one we are doing the PNP in our room until I feel comfortable moving him to his room. I am only using the PNP because we already have it, I was toying with the idea of a bassinet or RNP, but didn't want to spend the money.

She was in a bassinet pushed up against my side of the bed for the first 6 months! I didn't even have to get out of bed when she woke up. It was delightful

We use the bassinet from our UppaBaby Vista with a bassinet stand (I think it's a jolly jumper?)

Pnp bassinet! Until 5.5 mo (last weekend! Lol). I got a quilted sheet to put on it to make it slightly softer. Transitioned her into her room and crib at the same time. She is hyper aware of her surroundings so I think being in a new room threw her a little for falling asleep on her own, but the crib didn't seem to phase her at all.

Our LO was in her crib in our bedroom from day 1. It was at the foot of our bed. We just moved the whole crib to her room when she was 6 months old.
The only thing I'd do differently is maybe put the crib riiiight next to me,so I didn't have to get out if bed at all--although, with the crib at the end of our bed, my husband was equally likely to get up and get her.

PnP or co-sleeping. Next time I want a co-sleeper side car for the bed.
