Do they get a breakfast at home too? My son wakes up half an hour before we need to leave the house, and he's a slow eater so if he ate at home, I'd be at least half an hour late for work every day. We try to eat before he wakes up, but if we are too slow and he's up before we're done, he wants to join in and it usually ends in tears. I don't think he'd appreciate being woken earlier to eat... I tried to give him a small snack a few times, but usually he wants seconds and either I'm late because he gets seconds, or he's crying because he doesn't. I feel really bad for him, but don't really know what to do. Just wondering how others handle this!

Xander gets breakfast at daycare, but it's not until around 9:00, so we give him a snack beforehand. It's usually just toast or something he can eat in the car!

He just has breakfast at school. But we wake him about 10 mins before it's time to leave for school so there's no time for breakfast.

I give her a couple of silver dollar pancakes to eat in the car on the way to daycare. She eats breakfast with the rest of the kids sometime after.
eta: if she wakes up really early, I'll make her eggs and such, then let T know that she may not be hungry later

Depending on the time, he either gets to eat oatmeal at home or he will get other breakfast food in the car (waffles, scrambled eggs, pancakes, yogurt pouch, etc). He is a very slow eater too. Daycare gives a small breakfast snack.
ETA: we have a 20-30 minute commute, he would be pissed without food

Just at day care. We have to provide breakfast and it is a 1-2 min drive. She usually wakes up right before we need to leave. If she wakes up earlier, she is fine just drinking milk till we get to day care.

We give a snack some mornings if she ask, usually some dry cereal, a piece of toast, or a banana in addition to her glass of milk.

I voted just one breakfast, but occasionally he has a snack on the way or right before we leave. We provide breakfast and it is so close to our house.

She gets milk at home then eats breakfast with her class.

Hah, L has to be eating at all times. She seriously has food with her all day long. She wakes up and asks for food right away
Sooo, she wakes half an hour before we leave, and she eats an apple while I change her diaper and change/feed baby sis. Then she eats something in the car (granola bar, almonds, cheerios, etc). THEN daycare serves a breakfast (eggs, yogurt, cereal, muffins, etc). -
She sometimes gets milk and sometimes gets animal crackers in the car. At daycare she gets a "morning snack" usually right after she gets there at 7am and then "breakfast" around 9am.
I take my breakfast to work and eat it there, so we don't have an issue with her seeing us eat in the morning.

Thanks everyone! Pancakes and crackers some like an awesome idea... I'm going to try giving him some to nibble while we eat. We only have a five minute walk to day care, so it's more about him wanting to join in than actually being too hungry to wait

LO gets milk and crackers while he potties. It's enough to hold him over until he gets breakfast there.

She gets a little baggy of dry cereal that she picks at, and a cup of milk. Then she eats at daycare.

Milk at home and sometimes a half banana, or a few bites of whatever my husband is eating--but at daycare she eats her real breakfast, at 8 am.

I give him a little bag of Cheerios and a bottle of milk in the car. (ETA: We have a 30 minute commute to his daycare.)

Lo eats at daycare and at home. Her morning meal at home falls somewhere between "snack" and "real breakfast". Depending on the day and when everyone wakes up, she'll eat things like a yogurt pouch or bowl or yogurt with fruit at home, a scrambled or hard-boiled egg, crackers, cereal, oatmeal, etc. She always has at least 1 cup of milk at home too.
Then she gets breakfast at daycare around 8:30-9am.

This is going to change for us soon. LO currently gets early snack at 8:45 and we eat a full, healthy breakfast at home at 7:15.
She will get breakfast at her new center when she arrives at 8:00. Since she is used to eating at home, I'm not sure what we'll do...
