Does she just wear undies under the dress or bloomers over the undies? I feel stupid asking this but I'm curious.

In the winter a thick pair of stockings. In the summer we put shorts ( usually the legging type except they're shorts, not sure what the name for them is - shortings?). She's likes to flip around on the playground and loves dresses.

She wore just undies last summer but I think I'll put little shorts on under like these:

DH was always concerned about everyone seeing her panties when she sat in the stroller etc...

My LO isn't potty trained yet, but once she is I think I will have her wear something like what @luckypenny: suggested.

So far she only wears dresses with tights since it's been cold. I'll do bloomers or shorts in the summer. She's not very ladylike.

I had never thought about this. I never wore anything extra that I recall. And I climbed trees and things. I don't really get why bloomers are better, since they don't cover any more than undies, do they?

Leggings or bike shorts. I don't like the look of undies showing and she's not at all proper. Like yesterday running all over the park, climbing and sliding in a dress b

Just undies but since its still cold she usually wears stockings/tights too.

Leggings, tights, or bike shorts. At her age I think bloomers look too much like undies. I'm not sure why I feel so strongly, but DH and I both really dislike seeing a child's underwear once they're out of diapers.

Usually bike shorts when it's a casual dress and warmer out. Leggings or tights when it's more formal or cold out.

Leggings/tights in the winter and bike shorts in the summer. I like these from Old Navy: http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=66822&vid=1&pid=959078032

Dd always wears leggings under skirts and dresses. Not so much bc we're afraid her underwear's going to show, but to protect her knees in case she falls.

My mom used to tell me that I refused even the underwear when I was a kid. Our LO is to small for this now but my DH commented on putting shorts on her over her diaper because he thought the bloomers looked to much like underwear, I told him he was crazy.

Just undies in the summer, but I think we're going to stop buying dresses for her. She's 3, and she's just too active to enjoy them. We get a lot of wear out of skirts with built in bloomers, though.

Depends on what we're doing. Sometimes just undies but if we're going to the park then usually she'll wear leggings or shorts under the dress.

Okay I don't feel so ridiculous now. 3 year olds are not exactly lady like and I love dresses for my lo. I guess I'll be looking for some shortie leggings for under her dresses this summer.

In the winter, stockings but in the summer I will probably put cotton bike shorts on her. She doesn't understand to be modest yet!

@mediagirl: kohl's has a lot of toddler bike shorts. And yes to above, I love skorts!
Also if it's a casual dress I like Capri leggings underneath.

I had trouble finding little bike shorts - should have tried Kohls. Mine doesn't really care, so it's way easier for me to just provide shorts and shorty skirts. But that's what I'd do if she was nuts about dresses.

little shorty shorts, I don't like seeing a plain disposable diaper under a dress, especially if its full of pee!

@mediagirl: old navy has some on sale right now! they're $4 and an additional 20% off on top of that if you order online - http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=66822&vid=1&pid=342089002

We do leggings or "fluffy bum pants" under dresses. My LO is still growing in to her undies so bloomers seem to provide better coverage.

Childrens place always has a good selection of bike short and Capri leggings, too.

LO is still in diapers but I always put her in leggings (that for her are capri leggings! She is so tall and slim-) or tights under her dresses. Otherwise I'd feel like she's "got no pants."

We've only done leggings/tights since she potty trained in NOvember, but this summer she will most likely do just undies and maybe some shorts if she has the desire to flash her dress up She tends to do that now.
