I feel like we are going through everything together. we've attempted to have the girls share here and there and it has not gone well. Hoping once DD2 is 18 months they will be more ready. She is particular about her sleep conditions. If we have to hold off, baby will just be in our room for a while.

I wouldn't worry about the napping, since DS2 can nap in the room while DS1 plays/does quiet time/whatever elsewhere. And we actually haven't had a problem with bedtimes when our girls have shared a room for a week+ on vacations. We just put DD2 down first at whatever time, and then have DD1 do her books/songs in a common area. When she goes to bed, she knows she has to have the lights off and be very quiet. More of the issue for us is that DD2 wakes & babbles 30-60min earlier than DD1 would get up on her own!

Lo2 wakes up before lo1 so I just run in there and grab her before she can wake him up. She takes her first nap in their room so it's off limits while she's sleeping.

Since they started sharing a room (around 9 months and 2.75 years), my girls have had the same schedule for going to bed/waking up. Now the older one rarely naps (she'll turn 4 this summer), but that's not a big deal - I ask her to stay in the room until her little sister falls asleep, then she can come play with me.

If you already have a schedule that works for your boys, would you consider maybe putting your third in with the younger one once s/he is ready to move out of your room, and keeping DS1 in his own room? I ask because mine are 22 months apart also, and that gap was fine with getting the baby to just latch onto the older one's schedule.
