I think they will be fine! If your mom says she's up for it go for it! The beauty of little kids is that they also nap. My parents have watched both my kids while they were still not STTN. They wouldn't be able to do it for a week by I think my mom had DD for like 4 days.

Yes when both didn't STTN, we would leave with a willing grandparent. Both took bottles fine and would usually just wake once.

When she nursed no, but now I would definitely leave her with my sister for sure! Come to think of it I should it soon!!!!!

We left them when they were 9 weeks old to go to a wedding overnight. My in-laws just gave them bottles when they woke overnight. At 21 months they still are not sleeping through the night and we have not left them with anyone since that one time at 9 weeks. I haven't even left them with DH at night because he doesn't feel comfortable dealing with both of them at night (they both want to nurse at MOTN wake ups. We night weaned them a couple months ago but it didn't solve any of our issues so now we are back to nursing MOTN).

Yep, with my mom/parents for a night or two. She STTN after 12 months but would still wake up every now and again randomly later on. My mom didn't seem to care at all as in it wasn't a condition of watching her. Now with DD2, she's less apt to go down quietly so I'm a little more nervous to leave her overnight but we will again with my parents for a wedding.

My son has always slept through the night for my mom! Even when he was a baby. We left him when he was around 10 months and he slept all night for her but was still waking up once a night for us. Drives me crazy. He sleeps so much better at her house than at home. She can get 12 hours straight and we are lucky if we get 10 (he is almost 4 now).

@autumnlove: i made up the difference, but those late pumps instead of a dream feed killed me i think! scout was up 3-4 times the last two nights. i couldn't even keep track. girlfriend still needs to eat overnight and i think me emptying my breasts made it so she was never satisfied! definitely NOT pumping tonight.
