If your LO gets holiday gifts from a lot of people, do you do anything to space out the opening of so many gifts? What?

We let them open them all, but hoard at least half to actually open and play with at a later time.

They can unwrap them all but I don't let them play with them all there. Definitely not anything that has lots of pieces. The harder part is diplomatically not letting her older cousins open them all!

She unwraps them all. Then we put some away for later in the year.

@regberadaisy: It drives me bonkers when the gift giver starts opening the gift they got. I get they are excited, but it's usually the one with a million pieces.

Good thoughts! Thanks!
Last year I tried to draw out the actual opening over a few days, and feel like DD1 lost momentum/excitement. It may not be an issue now that she's older and really "gets" what's happening!

Same as PP, we let him open them all then put away a majority of them minus a couple I know he'll enjoy playing with right now.

She opens them all but we do Christmases on different days so they are actually pretty spread out. My parents on Christmas Eve, in laws the Saturday before, ect.
