You have to change it, right? It happened twice last night and I so didn't want to change her and wake her up! But you have to, I'm assuming?

Yep. It sucks but poop is acidic and will burn their little hiney. This happens to me a lot of nights and I get so sad when I hear him poop after I've spent 30 minutes rocking him!

Ugh, I hate this. DD has been pooping constantly this week, too.
To answer your question - yes, we change her. She's developed a little diaper rash (potentially due to an allergy, fml), so we don't want it getting worse.

ehh. for me, if it's a nap, I would leave it. my LO does not easily get rashes, and doesn't seem to mind sleeping with a dirty diaper.
after waking him up from a nap once to change what sounded and smelt like an epic poop-splosion... only to find out it was clean and he would NOT go back to sleep for hourssss afterwards, I stopped waking him from naps for diaper changes.
for night time... i'm not sure. would probably change him and pray he didn't wake up too much

Yeah, I'd change it. My LO has sensitive skin and if we left him in poop he'd get a diaper rash.

At night, definitely. I've changed her while she slept at night before!!! Gave her a paci toward the end and she only semi woke up.

I was dealing with this just as you posted the question! Its almost 5am here. I had just changed her nappy, reswaddled her and rocked her to sleep - then another poop happened. Not impressed! She then had a tired meltdown because I had to unswaddle her to change her. She is currently having daddy cuddles. The whole house is awake. Sigh.

@Cherrybee: ugh I'm sorry. Hope she's falls asleep quickly. C just got her right arm out of the swaddle before I finished wrapping her up and it's just going to stay... Unless she poops and I have to undo it anyway.
