Where was it? Was it nice having it somewhere else? Pros and cons?
We had A's party at our house in the backyard because it was summer. E's birthday is in March so we are going to have it at a private place DH's boss owns. It used to be a teen zone but now it's just rented for parties, but it's just down the road and it's really nice! I'm so happy to not have to have the mess here, or worry about making food.

We had it at a venue where Lo takes classes--they have a gym that the kids can run around in and then they did a half hour with a musician. It was super easy having someone else do cleanup and set up! It was less relaxed tho because we only had the venue for 90 min.

We did our 1st party away from home for DS's 6th birthday - it was at the bowling alley and was so much fun!! It was nice not worrying about plates, napkins, food, drinks, etc!
However, it was $$$. I think we will do the party every other year and then a special day out the other years

We had LO's second at My Gym. It was a fast party...10:30-12 but it was perfect for that age!

Yeah, the places by me are so expensive! It's kind of insane to pay that for a party, but every place has the same going rate.

I'm going to have it at a city park. Rent a gazebo for $50....call it a day.

We had it at a kiddie play room. It was perfect. They did the setting and cleaning up and we just had to show up. The best part is it's only 2 hours! Nobody wants to stay at a kid party for longer than that. When it's at your house people tend to linger and it makes a very long day.

we had olive's at a park and it was a fair amount of work getting everything there since we don't have a car, but all the kids had a blast.
charlie's was at a music/art studio and that was a lot of fun as well, but pricey.
this year we'll do simple very small home birthdays. apartments are small here so you can only have very small birthdays if you have them at home.
