I would want DH to have a clue about cooking. He just really cannot do it. I taught him how to boil an egg today.

That would be my wish too. He's learned how to make RJ's eggs in the morning, which is huge, but it took him like six months to learn how to not burn the pan.

Yep. Cooking would be awesome. Most Korean guys I know can't cook! If I have a DS, he's learning!

@mrs. wagon: haha funny we both pointed out something about eggs!
@chopsuey119: we need to teach our DH's!!

Cleaning the house. He's always happy to help if I ask for the help, but I wish he would just clean stuff on his own sometimes because I feel guilty asking for help.

Hubs is an amazing chef - I would want him to help with house cleaning. He is blind to messes!

@Andrea: My husband is TERRIFIED of cracking eggs. He'll sit there and stare at it like it's going to explode. Too funny! I'd also love for him to be able to cook. When I'm not feeling well, we always have to eat out. And that's a lot. I want more home cooking!

@artbee: ahaha. too funny!! my hubby can actually fry an egg. i had no idea he couldn't boil one until yesterday when i was boiling eggs for easter eggs. haha.
btw, we had fun dyeing but the eggs look awful! oh well, LO doesn't care what they look like!

I wish DH would clean a little more too...or at least not be a clutter freak/hoarder
GOLD / wonderful grape / 20289 posts
@Andrea: Did you take pictures of your eggs? I'm sure they didn't look awful, it's hard to screw up dying eggs!
GOLD / wonderful coffee bean / 18478 posts
@artbee: somehow we screwed it up. they looked fine at first but as they started drying, white streaks started to appear.
GOLD / wonderful grape / 20289 posts
@Andrea: What's wrong with white streaks? It gives them charactor and makes them unique!
GOLD / wonderful coffee bean / 18478 posts
@artbee: well...ok then. i change my mind - they look awesome!!!
GOLD / wonderful grape / 20289 posts
@Andrea: I bet they really do look awesome. Who wants boring solid colored eggs anyway?
GOLD / wonderful coffee bean / 18478 posts
@artbee: my belly doesn't care. i just ate an egg for a snack.
GOLD / wonderful grape / 20289 posts
@Andrea: Yum! Now I want hard boiled eggs. I'll make my mom do that when she gets home, since I can't lift a heavy pot of water yet.
GOLD / wonderful coffee bean / 18478 posts
@artbee: oh yes! tell mom to cook up some eggs for you!

Clean the house!! Or at least assist in making it less cluttered so tidying up is a breeze.

I wish DH would see dirt and take initiative to clean things up more. He'll make piles of things and move them out of the way instead of sorting and putting them away.

My hubby is an amazing cook, he actually thinks he's better than me!!
He is great with meals and awesome with our son, he had a really hard time in the first couple weeks after birth keeping our house clean. He doesn't see what's messy. He'll say idk what to clean when there is a huge pile of mail on the table. He throws his laundry on the floor, and his clean laundry on the futon and never puts it away. It's frustrating. So definitely cleaning

Daily cleaning/tidying/dishes.
DH is a good cook but takes too long, so I don't mind cooking. He's a HUGE clean/germ freak so when we do our BIG cleanings he does a lot of the grunt work. But I'm the neat freak and can't stand every day messes and clutter, while he can let the dishes pile up with no problem.
I took a long nap after a long drive back home yesterday and while I was asleep, DH cleaned the entire first floor (dishes, put things away, cleaned countertops, etc.) I was so happy

I would say cleaning the house/pick up on his own. It's his week to put away laundry (this weekend I did all the washing/drying/folding) and it's still sitting in baskets. Drives me bonkers he doesn't just do it right away.

Cooking! He's not bad but he can use some improvement. He can make basic things like spaghetti and breakfast foods. But that's about it. He's a total clean freak so he doesn't need improvement there. I would say a little extra help in the cooking department would be nice.

Just ONE thing? um definitely taking initiative in the "cleaning up after himself" department! seems to be a popular answer on here... hmm!

Cleaning/putting stuff away on his own! He never grumbles when I remind him, but having him do it without me saying a word would be wonderful!
GOLD / wonderful coffee bean / 18478 posts
@NYCaliMama: haha. you can pick more than one if you want!
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21628 posts
Cleaning without my prompting for sure. He has no issue cleaning something once I ask him.
coconut / 8498 posts
I agree with the rest of you about picking up. A messy house bothers him, but instead of throwing things away he'll just make little piles everywhere. General messes don't bother me so much, but when I do clean up and find piles of stuff it's SO frustrating! I however hate dirt and nastiness (like a dirty shower), but he doesn't even see that unless it's pointed out to him.

Add one for the "Cleaning/putting stuff away". DH doesn't put anything away. I can walk around the house and figure out exactly where he's been based on what he's left out.
