how do you deal with being a solo parent? I'm on day 9 here and going nuts! At least the end is in sight, but I know this won't be the last time he's gone. Any tips?

Routine is key for us. I am a WOHM so DS is in daycare from 730-5 or so daily. I just have my little routine that I am set in and it helps. Of course, it is 8 pm here and I am already in bed!

Routine works wonders. So does having a plan and keeping busy!

Routine!!!! If you work, pack and get everything ready for the next morning thr night before. Lay out clothes for the whole week Sunday night. Easy meals. Don't worry about keeping the house clean!

I kind of do the opposite and relax the routine a bit. My LO is 19 months and really flexible. We stay extra busy. Lots of play dates, later errands, dinner is definitely not up to the same standard, have people over. I find the busier the better. I don't know if you're SAH or WOH, so that may not work for you.

I just kind of got used to it. DH is gone for a week (or more) a month every month. It was really hard the first few times he was away but now it's second nature. In some ways, it's almost easier because I don't worry so much about cooking/cleaning and just concentrate on quality time with LO.
