Ours is 62. She wears a long sleeve pj with feet and a sleep sack. It's more than adequate.

Ours is usually around 71-72, she wears fleece PJs and that is it and she's fine. She is very warm blooded.

Ours is usually cooler but I would prob dress LO in cotton PJs and a warm sleep sack at 70 degrees.

@Mrs. Jacks: no onesie? What kind of sleep sack?
I tend to keep baby on the cooler side of "safe" while DH like him as warm as (safely) possible.
@jessiejo17: onesie?
I'm not convinced a sleeveless sleeper can keep a baby warm! But then again his (fleece) long sleeved sleep bag seems a but warm.

My LO gets cold so easily... we typically keep her room at 70 and she wears a cotton onesie, sleeper and a fleece or cotton sleepsack.

i think i'm a bit crazy with the 'keep him warm!' thing, but it is undoubtedly influenced by my very asian mom
his room is about 70 or maybe a bit less, and he wears:
thin long sleeved gerber onesie
footed fleece sleeper
long sleeved fuzzy sleep sack
if he cries before bed he gets a bit sweaty, but otherwise he seems cool to the touch when we check on him in the evenings and in the morning.
we also live in a basement apt and it is a tad 'wet' feeling in his room, if that makes sense...

Cotton pjs and a fleece sleepsack. If it's colder, he wears fleece pjs and a cotton sleepsack.

@TurtleDoves: Just long sleeved cotton, footed PJs with a fleece sleep sack. Babies sleep pretty warm!
coconut / 8475 posts
@tysonja: makes sense! Lo's room is capeted but it's attached to his bathroom which is cold tile and it opens up to our hardwood floors. So, I know that "cold..wet" chill you're talking about.

@cascademom: @Mrs. Jacks: you're talkin the sleeveless sacks, correct?

LO wears a cotton short sleeved onesie, cotton footed sleeper or two piece jammie's, and a cotton 2.5 tog sleep sack.

Our heat is set at 67 and DS is in a long sleeved onesie, fleece sleeper and socks.

our nursery is 71-72 degrees and she wears a footie and a fleece sleep sack. she likes being warm though. her hand sometimes is cold when i get her in the morning, so i don't think she is too hot.
blogger / pineapple / 12381 posts
@TurtleDoves: We have some sleeveless and some with sleeves, but she's usually too hot with sleeves.
nectarine / 2217 posts
oh man... this thread just confirms that i be cray-zee.
but i can't get my head around putting less clothing on him -- we keep our room at 74-75 and i'm still freezing wearing long sleeved shirts and thick comforters (arms in!). maybe the thermostat is wrong. 0_o.
or just a quirk about living underground....
thanks for starting this thread! maybe i'll rethink the onesie underneath. maybe...

She sleeps in cotton Pj's and a sleeveless A&A Cozy Sleep sack, she is more than warm enough.

His room is about 70, give or take a few degrees, and he only wears a long-sleeved fleece sleep sack and a diaper. His hands are sometimes a little bit cool when he wakes up but he's otherwise warm to the touch. He runs hot, though, like me.

@tysonja: You're not crazy! I was showing my mom and grandma the nursery when they came over and my grandma wanted to finish this big fluffy quilt thing she made. I told her about how babies can't sleep with blankets for the first year and they were BOTH like "oh no!" Baby will be cold, etc. etc. I showed them the thickest sleep sacks I have so far: Halo Fleece with the swaddle wrap even and a BabyDeeDee one and they STILL insisted neither would be warm enough, even with pajamas underneath!
Asian moms just have a thing about keeping babies super bundled up I think!

@shopaholic: Arabs are the same! I CRINGE when I see my family members bundle up their kids. I can't handle seeing a baby sweat bullets in their sleep.

Our four month old wears a fleece or cotton footed onesie and is swaddled in a miracle blanket.

Fleece long sleeved and footie sleeper. That's all, we even keep the house at 68. He'll yell at me if he is too hot/cold!
GOLD / cantaloupe / 6703 posts
Our room stays about 71 at night and we just have LO in her diaper in a cotton swaddle.
honeydew / 7444 posts
@shopaholic: omg, my mom drove me crazy when she would comment about how cold LO must be! We were also gifted with a quilt, and i'm like, "uhh yeah, thanks but we'll use it in 2 years."
LO's nursery hovers between 67 and 70. She wears a cotton footed onesie in a babydeedee sleep sack.
GOLD / wonderful olive / 19030 posts
@TurtleDoves: Not usually, only if I feel like her room seems colder I will put a onsie underneath. She sweats too much if I would do it every day!

Great post! Im wondering the same thing. I live in Chicago and it gets COLD here! My LO wears short sleeve kimono tee, fleece footed one piece, and a cotton sleep sack. Her crib is in our room and I even get cold at night and like to bury every inch of my body underneath the covers. I'm always worried she's cold especially with her arms out in the sleeveless sleep sack!

We keep our house 62 at night. When DD was little I would just put her in a cotton footed sleeper and either a sleeveless fleece or cotton sleep sack. DS is still swaddled in a cotton swaddle me but other than that he is just in a cotton footed sleeper.

Ours fluctuates between 72-74. I htink the temp thing on our monitor is wrong...it feels so chilly in there! I usually have him in a sleeper and/or sleep sack.
pomegranate / 3643 posts
Our heater is out of whack so I don't know what temp we keep it on. Probably around 68. He sleeps in a onesie, cotton sleeper and a&a blanket. He usually feels warm. If he feels cold I put a hat on him.
I on the other hand have several thick blankets on. Don't know how that works!

His room is about 18 degrees Celsius (65ish Fahrenheit) and he sleeps in cotton footed PJs and a 2.5 tog grobag sleepsac. I love the discussion about grandparents. My inlaws are constantly convinced that he's either too hot or too cold (like they say "oooh he looks hot" and five minutes later, despite me not changing anything "Oh honey you are so cold"! It's hilarious!

yesterday our monitor alarm went off (angelcare). It was because somehow his room had gotten to 88 DEGREES!!! I frreeeaked out.
Our heater was at 72 degrees but because I had been cooking all day and his bedroom is above the kitchen, his room was way too hot.
I'm glad the baby monitor caught it and went off.
