We're still about 6ish months out, but have people started thinking nursery ideas? DH had a ton for a boy and reworked our ideas this weekend for a girl now. Here's my inspiration board!
We already have the dresser and will be buying the similarly matching crib. Ordered the rocker in a light blue striped print and the navy rug this weekend. MIL will be making all the bedding once we find some fabric.

I love this. Not too girly but super cute. We're thinking of going with the woodland theme and maybe buying an antique dresser to refinish to look shabby chic. So I guess woodland/shabby chic. I'm so going to start one of these inspiration boards.

Eeek so excited to start seeing what people come up with! Love your board so far! We are going for a vintage circus theme. We may make it more girly or boyish when we find out, but we are refinishing some furniture that we already have and will buy some new pieces for our bedroom. I love animals and thought doing a circus theme would be fun to get a lot of animals in.

I have absolutely no idea what we are doing nursery wise yet! Except that since we are team green, and DH really wants orange to be the main color, like emergency orange! hahahah So we will see what we figure out to do!

I just bought a rug and a crib today. We're having a boy and I really wanted to do white furniture. So I bought this crib: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Baby-Mod-Modena-3-in-1-Fixed-Side-Crib-Cool-Grey/15529734 and we will get the same dresser you have in your inspiration board but, you know, in white.
Otherwise, I plan on a blue and green color scheme. I just bought this rug in the navy color: http://www.rugsusa.com/rugsusa/rugs/rugs-usa-terali-moroccan-trellis/navy/200MTVS36B-83011.html and will plan on painting some green stripes on the wall where we'll put the crib. The rest of the walls are sort of a white color.
And that's as far as I've gotten. Not sure what we want to do for a rocker and we might put a white daybed in there from our office, if it will fit. Otherwise, that will just go into storage. But I haven't even begun to figure out what to hang on the walls or how we'll organize things like books. We'll have to figure out furniture placement first when everything comes in and then figure that all out later.

@MUI831: We have our daybed in the nursery/LO's bedroom. Right now, it serves as dresser and couch for story time. We're getting rid of ours soon because we're going to move or make LO's big boy bed there if we don't move right away.

Love it! I really hoped to be having a boy for some reason, and had a whole blue nautical theme picked out. But now that we're having a girl, I'm having a hard time deciding! 
Everything I like so far is super girly, haha oh well.
When is a typical time to buy a crib? I'll be 16 weeks tomorrow and DH thinks it's too early?

@MrsKMM: You and me both! We had a navy and dark lime color palette set with more nautical features. It was tough to find a girl color combo. This combo with pink had been discussed but we weren't totally sold on it. Took some time but it works now! And were buying our crib this weekend out of convenience, since we'll be near the store.

I thought for sure we were having a boy as well, but I am so excited baby Ava or Ellie is a girl!!!
Pink is my favorite color, so uh yeah. Our theme is Hollywood Glam. Here is an inspiration board that captures the exact theme I want minus the pink dresser. All furniture is white. I ordered the bedding last night. I splurged on the crib, so wanted to save on bedding.

@LindsayInNY: I just came across this color scheme. Navy, orange, and gold accents. Could be another option for you if you're not sold on navy and pink (although I navy and pink)?! The navy is darker in the photo, but I have the flash on.

@dc yoga bee: I love the name Ellie! It's my second choice for a girl's name. I have a few friends with toddlers named Ava. Good choices
Having a hard time with girl ideas, but liking stuff like this... Which is similar to your ideas, I think

@MrsBrewer: I think orange could work with a lot! Check out Project Nursery's website - you can sort by room type (nursery), color, etc: http://projectnursery.com/projects/ I saw a lot of orange/turquoise, orange/gray/white, orange/navy/white, orange/blue/lime combos. I think you could definitely work that into either boy, girl or neutral! A friend did an orange and blue/navy combo for their boy with sports theme throughout! (@hocuspocus: @Eko: I found a lot of ideas for both of your themes on there too, if you need/want ideas!)
@MUI831: There are a TON of navy and green ideas on Etsy and Pinterest! That's what we originally planned when we thought LO was going to be a boy
@dc yoga bee: I *LOVE* your colors and theme!! When we had to redo things for a girl theme, we had looked into super girly with pale pink, ruffles, etc. Since we had originally talked about navy with either green or pink, we ended up just going back to that. We're in a 2 bedroom condo and want to keep some parts of the room gender neutral for LO#2. So a lot of our bright pink will be accent pieces that can be removed or changed out, if necessary. Still trying to figure out if gold will work into it too or not.

@LindsayInNY: Thanks! That would be great! I haven't made it too far on looking at nursery ideas. I looked at pinterest, but the vintage circus theme seemed limited in ideas or it looked a little to cliche. I think I will need some ideas to maybe give it a more boy or girl look when we do find out the gender.

I love the name Ellie, and I actually think I like it more than Ava. But, of course now I'm thinking Olivia or Olive "Ollie," in addition to Ellie! Gah!!

@MrsBrewer: I wish you could double sort/filter because when I did nursery and navy or pink, I got a lot of variations. I wish I would get results for both! You can also search the site in the top right but it only gives you one result per page so you have to click for older results which is annoying. But I find more ideas there than Pinterest, surprisingly!

@dc yoga bee: We ordered ours this weekend! DH wanted an old school rocker but a lot of HBers suggested getting something more comfortable. We ended up compromising with the Pottery Barn Charleston Rocker - originally liked the Wingback but changed our minds in store. It's not a glider but has an actual rocking base and can be converted to a chair post-rocking days. It's not cheap but since we're saving on nursery furniture (existing dresser, Ikea crib), we splurged a bit.

@dc yoga bee: I think we will end up getting a glider/rocker of some kind. I keep looking through craigslist ads, but there are some that can be reasonably priced through amazon or in store. It is my intention for LO to sleep in his/her room sooner than later so a rocker of some kind will be a saver.

@LindsayInNY: We bought a pottery barn crib, and it was almost same price as my queen sized sleigh bed! We will probably get an ikea dresser. I saw one I liked for $200.
@Eko: I need to research some other brands. I've seen little castle I think it's called.

@dc yoga bee: We ended up with almost all Ikea when we first moved to the NYC-area and got "adult" stuff. The only Ikea left is our bedroom and the nursery dresser - we replaced the living room and dining room. Aside from the annoyances of assembling it, I find it to be really good quality (for the price!). We've moved it two or three times, depending on the piece, with no issues.
@dc yoga bee: @Eko: There are always pottery barn and other rockers on Craigslist! And knock offs. I know Target sells an Eddie Bauer brand rocker that looks VERY similar to the Pottery Barn one at half the price. I think it all depends whether you want a rocker or glider look.

@LindsayInNY: oh yeah, I have ikea coffee table bookshelf, tv stand, and couch! Love it! I think o want a glider. After the crib and stroller, I gotta start saving on other places. We are trying to buy a house at the end of the year. Baby girl gonna cut into our down payment fund

@dc yoga bee: I think gliders are the same pricing situation... They can run all over the place. You can definitely find them on Craigslist but also reasonably priced at BRU or BBB (or Target, Walmart, Ikea, you name it!). What about adding it to a registry?

@LindsayInNY: see, that's where the debate comes in. I think I would get major side eye adding furniture to my registry from family since I'm a "lawyer." My brother and I are the only ones out of about 30 cousins to go to college, let alone grad school. They think I must be making $150,000 a year. Um, I have student loans and work for the government-no dice! So, no one is buying me a rocker lol.

@LindsayInNY: Love it! You've inspired me to add navy to our nursery. At first I wanted to repaint it, because I'm a little sick of the lavender/white/grey and wanted DD#2 to have something of her own, but I think adding some navy accents will make it feel new.
@dc yoga bee: Love my glider... still use it all the time. We may get a second one so that LO can still have one in her room. She still likes to be rocked before bed. I got a Dutailer one off Craigslist for $60 and my mom made a slipcover for the cushions.

I don't have any good pics of the nursery on my work computer. I found one that I posted on another HB thread about dressers (ours came from Craigslist - solid wood dresser from an old farmhouse; my dad gave it a fresh coat of paint - love it). Anyway, it gives you some idea.
Julia has a Janie & Jack dress with lavender, purplish-navy, and mint in it, so I am using that dress as inspiration for a revised color palette.

@dc yoga bee: I hear ya... SIL is getting a ton of second-hand things and my Dad commented on the expensive strollers at Target - that were $200. Eep. So yeah, the big ticket items are likely being bought by us.
@78h2o: I love a navy and lavender combination! That was one of the colors (among many...) that DH nixed. There were a lot of ideas and examples on Project Nursery (I spent most of the weekend on it LOL).

@LindsayInNY: I never intended for her room to be quite so lavender. I thought it was more of a lavender-grey when I picked it. My Dad painted the whole room for me while I was at work, so it was sort of a done deal by the time I got home. In some lights it is more subtle.
Do you think you will keep your crib quilt for the sake of posterity? Julia has a Pottery Barn quilt that is hanging on a quilt hanger next to her bed. I've never even taken the tag off (it's hidden because it's folded). Wondering if I should resell it and get something with navy in it for the baby, or if I should keep it for Julia?

@78h2o: We'll keep our quilt, whenever we get one, but only because MIL quilts so she'll make one especially for LO. If you don't use it though, and Julia has no attachment to it, I don't really see any reason why you would HAVE to keep it? FWIW, I love the lavender! I always had purple-y rooms growing up
