Did you regret it? I have had long hair my whole life, right now it is longer than mid-back. I hardly even have time to do it any more, and feel like it looks ratty with pp hair loss having two kids so close. I have a hair appointment on wed and thinking about cutting it shoulder length.

I've gone from mid back to shoulder before and loved it. It was so much easier to take care of - just a few minutes to blow dry and so much more volume. I say do it!

I didn't regret it at all! It was a shock at first then I loved it!
Mine was past my waist and I went to a pixie cut, then did it again in a bob

I've done it, and I didn't regret it at all! I cut it from past my boobs to a chin length bob and I LOVED it. I will go back to it someday!

I haven't regretted either of my chops! I cut 15" off two summers ago. I hate the growing out period, though. I will say, short hair was much more high maintenance for me. But it was short short

I've only done it once, in college. I regretted it but I don't think I look good with short hair because it's so fine.

Only because i got engaged soon after and had to grow it out for my wedding.

I had short hair and grew it out for years. I just went back to short hair and I love it. I went from mid-back to shoulder length and the next time I got a cut I went even shorter to chin length! I think I look a lot better with short hair and I actually take the time to do it in the morning because it only takes 10-15 minutes where as my long hair took more than 30 minutes.

I chopped mine off when LO was 6 weeks old. I got it cut a little above my shoulders (this is really short for me!). I really liked the way it looked, but it drove me crazy that I couldn't pull it all up into a ponytail. It's just now getting long enough to pull all of it up again.

I chopped mine to my collarbone from mid-back when LO was 9 months. It was awesome! I need to trim it again - I have lazy, long-hair habits!

I've done it a few times. I usually regret it. I just think my long hair is nicer. More work, but I like it better.

Yes I regretted it both times, but my hair is curly so when it's short it is a lot higher maintenance.

@rattles: I have bad lazy longhair habits now! That's prob why my hair looks so ratty! I used to style and blow dry all the time and now I just don't care!

@matador84: That's why I cut mine. It's curly naturally, but I used to straighten it pre-baby. Chopping it meant it was easier to air dry and wear curly. Now I just need to get used to going to the salon more often!

I've never had regrets about chopping off my hair. Most recent years, I keep it on the short side anyway.

I think shoulder length hair is still "long" since I usually prefer a chin-length bob. Shoulder length will grow back out pretty fast if you do hate it, so I say make the chop. It's a lot easier to take care of and if you explain to the stylist that you might want to just grow it back out, they won't do a ton of layers, etc. that would need regular trims.

I've done waist length to a pixie twice now. Haven't regretted it either time, but I do usually end up growing it back out.

I didn't regret it, but I have very fast growing hair and tend to switch it up pretty frequently.

@lawbee11: This is what happened to me.
I had loooong hair then chopped it to right at shoulder length. I actually looooved it but couldn't pull everything up into a pony/bun on top of my head. It's just now long enough that I can, whew!

I've never regretted it- I have a cycle of growing my hair out then chopping it off. -
I also had past regrets based on the pony tail issue!
