my dishwasher!

This is hilarious!

I would think you are crazy, but my husband (and his parents, btw) are the same way. In their country they didnt have a dishwasher, so when the moved to the US, they just never used it.

My husband tried the dishwasher once when he got his own apartment, but thought it was broken....because he put liquid dish soap in it and bubbles poured out of the dishwasher. S he never used it again. When I met him, he used the dishwasher as a drying rack after he washed his dishes. Crazy man.

When we got married and I bought dishwasher soap, he asked why we can't just use the liquid dish soap---- when I told him that's for hand washing, he finally figured out why the dishwasher was "broken" in his last apartment.

Then he bought his parents some dishwasher soap, too,so they can start using their own dishwasher.

i've never lived without a DW & don't ever plan on it! it will change your life for the better! your sink can be empty all the time without having to wash everything immediately.

I am 35 and have never used a dishwasher. Our last apartment had one, we were there for 2 years and we never used it! Our current one doesn't have one but we wish it did now that we have LO.

hahah... i've never run one on my own, either. my parents have one though that they use when lots of ppl come over.

Yay! Growing up, my family always hand washed everything. The dishwasher was for storage. When DH and I moved in together we didn't have a dishwasher and thought it was just fine, until we couldn't take it anymore and got one installed. We haven't looked back. Our dishwasher now is old, but we can not function without it!

Now you can fight with your DH over how he loads it!
I always thought my mom was crazy for caring about how my dad put dishes in the dishwasher. But then I got married! DH drives me crazy with how he loads it!!

I'd used a dishwasher on occasion (vacation, visits to friends/family), but, I didn't have one of my own until I was 30. Important tip -- not all dishwasher detergents are created equal, and some work better for hard water vs soft water and various mineral content. Ask your neighbors what works well for them and you'll be more likely to consistently end up with clean dishes.
