Halp!!!
DD2 has hand foot and mouth. DH just found sores on his tongue and roof of mouth. Last time he got HFM, when DD1 had it, he also got shingles at the end. His already shitty immune system was just shot.
Poor guy was out of commission for basically two weeks.
He already takes multivitamins and echinacea pills. Hit me with your best immunity booster tips!!!!

DS (4mo) is getting over it, and DH just got it 
lots of water and rest and emergency-C for the immune system and Tylenol and Chloraseptic for treatment. If the sore throat gets very bad, Dr's can prescribe a lidocaine rinse for adults.

Quarantine him when someone gets sick?
Kidding, kind of. I also have a husband that gets sick when someone in another state sneezes. I think part of it for him is getting enough sleep.

I've been taking elderberry syrup products when I'm worried about getting sick- I think these pastilles helped the most (https://www.amazon.com/Sambucol-Pastilles-Black-Elderberry-Count/dp/B00I05J580). Elderberry, zinc, and vitamin c.
But I took it all and still got my toddlers awful cold.

My daughter had a HFM like virus this spring. I put breastmilk directly on the rash and I think it helped (I only put it on one arm at first so I could compare arms). I have some breastmilk frozen and sometimes give it to the kids if they have a fever.
I also try to get the kids outside at least for a bit of it's nice weather. I feel like they start festering inside so I air them out a bit when they're sick

@Maysprout: LOL to festering! Right now 95% of it is in her mouth. She cries when she tries to nurse even though she wants to.

I'm not sure if it will help in this case, but I give our pre-schooler Elderberry product daily. Either her immune system IS better or it IS working because she went the whole school year without missing a day. Her sicknesses were all well timed to weekends. And it really was only two.

Other than supplements, I think lifestyle is also a factor. Try to get plenty of sleep, eat healthy, exercise.

@regberadaisy: oh wow, poor thing. I wonder if you could call your ped and get a recommendation for something safe that would numb her mouth a bit so she can nurse easier.

At first sign of sickness we have apple cider vinegar and raw garlic. The easiest way for me is to add those into our salad dressing, but I've also added ACV into a tea with ginger and honey. And garlic with whatever food. Vitamin D is important too so we try to get sunshine daily as much as possible.

I'm not even exaggerating but DH legit has the worst immune system. Minus the sleep aspect --2 low needs sleeper kids
@Pumpkin Pie: minus beer he does not even indulge much in guilty pleasures any more! Our fast food is Wendy's and that's once every 3 months or so. He doesn't even have a sweet tooth! I'm way worse than him
