M has been waking up with the sun lately so we're in the market for blackout curtains that won't break the bank. I've looked at some old threads but I'm having trouble finding the ones that bees have recommended (people seem to like ikea and BRU but I don't see them on their sites.
Do you love your blackout curtains? Major bonus points for links

ETA: I see a lot of light-colored curtains being advertised as blackout curtains. Are yours light or dark?

I use the paper blackout curtains from Lowe's. They are practically free and I just saw that the ones we hung in our old house are still up an looking good.

We got ours at Target. They were $25 each I think, but they are probably more like 85% blackout.

@scg00387: We're renting our house and there are roll-up shades so I didn't bother with curtains. The shades have been fine until now, but mama wants to sleep past 5:30!

We got blackout curtains from bed bath and beyond and hung them with a tension rod when we rented our apartment and I worked nights. They are white and blah but they worked REALLY well! Kept the heat out too :). I think they were $20?

I guess I was thinking that curtains might block out the light on the side better than shades. We'll see!

We started with the paper blinds from lowes but they got ripped up pretty easily. Now we have the ones from Target. We got a light color and the sun goes right through them, so we put those in our room and got LO a darker color.

We use the light/heat/noise blocking ones from Walmart and love them. Probably $15-$20 per panel. Keeps the house much quieter and nice and dark on my weekend sleep-ins

I used BB&B coupons and got white blackout curtains and tension rods. No matter what there will be a little light leaking out the edges. I used to tape them down.
