And, even though I was breastfeeding, I always brought formula with me and a drop-ins bottle just in case. Just in case of what, I'm not sure, but I still brought it.

I have everything in my bag that Artbee has... plus a pacifier too.
@artbee: How did you travel with your formula? At home we do powdered formula, so I've been bringing individual portions of formula powder (in a little baby food dispenser), along with bottles filled with formula water. I'm not sure if there's an easier way to bring along my formula though. Also, our LO doesn't seem to particularly like room temperature formula, since we feed her warmed formula at home.

@skibobrown: We have something like this http://www.amazon.com/Sassy-Powdered-Formula-Dispenser-Colors/dp/B000067PIZ. I put 3 scoops in each thing because LO drinks 6 ounces at a time, and you can just dump it in the bottle, which I prefill with water. She's fine with room temp though.

@artbee: Oh good! That's what we do too! I thought I might be missing something. Nobody ever tells you the tricks of formula feeding. I learned all about breast feeding before we had our baby, but I never expected to be using formula.
(Sorry to thread-jack).

@skibobrown: That happened to me too! At first I was carrying around a whole sample sized formula, but a friend had the formula dispenser so I learned from her. It works well for us.

@skibobrown: I used to bring a small thermos filled with hot water and a bottle filled half full with room temp water. When it was time to eat, I'd top off the bottle from the thermos and had a warm bottle.
I never bothered with a portable warmer, even though we had one for the car...took too long.

@artbee I exclusively pump and my daughter likes warm bottles on the go, this has helped

Just like @looch said... You fill it with hot water and the bottle easily fits in the cup (I use born free bottles) its quite bulky but it gets the job done!

@artbee: wet bag = plastic grocery store bag, right?
GOLD / wonderful grape / 20289 posts
@mediagirl: lo is in cloth so we have a real wet bag for her. We also carry disposable bags to put poo in if there's not a bathroom right there.

For us: 3 cloth diapers, wet bag, cloth wipes in a smaller wet bag, mini diaper cream stick, 2 disposable diapers(from a shower diaper cake)nursing pads, muslin blanket, bib, burp cloth, changing pad, Nuk pacifier, bottle of expressed milk, formula samples, bottle of water and a change of clothing for LO.

@skibobrown: if you gradually lower the temp of bottles at home, you could get LO to take room temp anytime, which is.extremely convenient.
I started warming DS bottles for the first few times, then stopped. I nursed, but gave him pumped bottles, then switched to formula at 7 mos. From 2 mos on, he'd take bottles of whatever cold, room temp or warm.
