LO is almost 6 months and has quite a cough. She's coughing mucus up and just coughed enough to vomit. Is there a position I can hold her in to help her? I'm so afraid of the choking noises.

Anyone? If she sounds like she's choking should I hold her in any specific position? Upright? Leave her alone? Face down over the knee?

I'm sorry I don't have any real advice. It seems like holding her upright would help, since that's usually what helps adults. I hope she feels better soon!!

@mrsbookworm: thanks, that's my instinct but I worry that I'm missing something more productive.

@Corduroy: I would say upright or slightly leaned over? Have you tried sitting in a steam bath? Vicks on feet with socks on helped my LO keep the coughing to a minimum overnight so she can sleep. Hope it goes away. Little baby coughs are the pits.
