Has anyone travelled with a BabyBjorn travel crib and checked it? I don't have a suitcase big enough to hold it, so I was planning on just checking it in its carrying case. Does this sound okay or does anyone know if I should be nervous about anything?

I haven't yet but I plan on checking it in December! I think it will be fine since the crib is stored between the mattress in the bag so it shouldn't get damaged!

Totally ok to check it in as it is. I did it on JetBlue going to Puerto Rico. They just count it as a baggage item. Super easy! Have fun!

I checked it for a Canada-US flight with three plane switches and I've checked it for one other province to province flight.
Worked great and is still in great shape. Bonus feature is that there is a lot of room for stuffing clothes in and around the crib inside the travel case. Maybe it helps protect it as well.

@Mrs. Bee: I really wanted the GoCrib, but it was sold out I couldn't find it anywhere!
@IcebergMom: Awesome. I just found outbthatbeven though LO is a lap infant I can check a bag for her for free so I'll be using the crib for that piece.
@babyz: Thanks! I'm a bt nervous about making it to London on my own with a month old in one piece.

Update: I had no problems checking the crib and it arrived fine and in excellent condition on all legs of the trip. Virgin were actually great about checking it seperately from the other baggage so it wouldn't get mishandled. I absolutely love the crib, one of my best buys ever.
