So I have an interview this afternoon, and I'm wearing this dress with black tights and heels. Should, I wear a cardigan? I don't have one with me but I can pick up at mall before interview.

Do you have a black blazer you can wear with it? That would be more interview appropriate than a cardigan.

What kind of position/field is it? Unless it is more of a creative field, I would suggest a cute fitted blazer or a cardigan.

Yes; I definitely would wear something that covered my shoulders/upper arms more. I would wear a black blazer if you have one available.

I agree, something to cover the arms. I would go with a cardi, but a blazer would work too. Just depends on the job you're looking at.

I'd go with a blazer or cardigan, depending on the type of job it is.

Agreed with covering your arms no matter what, but if it's an office position I would defintely go with a blazer as that comes off more professional than a cardigan.

If you choose the cardi, you should definitely belt it (like with the dress's belt), or top it with a suit jacket/blazer.

You're in the DMV, right? Based on the typical kinds of offices here, I say go with a blazer.

I also vote black blazer - I always wear suits to interviews (but not sure if it's a lawyer thing).
Cute dress!

@winniebee: My suits don't fit right now. And hard to justify spending a lot of money when my body is so weird. I'll go find a nice blazer during lunch.
I'm a CPA.

@littlek: Ugh so annoying! I bet you could get away with a black cardigan too. Depends on how fancy the office is.

Regardless of what you wear, I'd say definitely cover your shoulders.
ETA: if a blazer is absolutely not possible, then maybe go for the most structured black cardigan in the nicest fabric you can find?

@littlek - Do you have a suit jacket that fits that you could pair with the dress? Saves you from having to go out and buy one!

@littlek: I saw some cute black blazers at target the other day for cheap, I would try there!

I agree, cover the shoulders with a blazer if possible.
If you have a blazer from a suit wear that. Even if it doesn't button it would be enough.

@littlek: I agree with the PP a black blazer would complement the dress nicely. More importantly good luck with your interview!!!!

I don't know if you are ok with thrift shops; but almost every time I go to Goodwill there are really nice professional suit jackets and blazers there for like $10. Then you don't have to feel badly about wearing it once or twice and donating it back once your old clothes fit!

I went with a cardigan. Thanks for all the comments! I think it went well since they said they will be calling with an offer tomorrow..
