We introduced sweet potato purée on Thanksgiving so it's been 3 days. How many days in a row did you offer the same food before switching? I've read different opinions ranging from 3 days to a week.

I think we were told at least 4 days before we started solids, but we had to do at least 14 days (up to 30 days for some!) and then 7 later on due to food allergies (FPIES).

When we first started I would do 2-3 days between new foods. Now at 8 months I just don't try more than one new thing in a day. I don't do something new every day, I just don't wait.

When we first started it was 2-3 days. Now I just do whatever.

In the beginning, 3 days.
After about a month I relaxed and now do 1-2 days.

I did 3 days from 6-8 months and then started feeding him off my plate.

Our ped said that since we didn't have any known food allergies on either side of our family there was no need to wait 3 days to introduce new foods, ust don't feed him peanut butter and shellfish in the same day!

We didn't. The first foods we started her on were mixed purée pouches that usually had three or four fruits and veggies mixed in. We gave her a different one every day and had no issues. In her first week of eating solids she had maybe 10 or 12 different fruits and veggies.
We started solids in the UK and all the stage 1 pouches were mixes - we had no problem with it (really, who is allergic to broccoli, carrots, or pears?!) and neither did our GP. The only thing we had to avoid was honey for the first year because of the botulism risk.

We didn't space out foods. For potential allergens, we only let him have one at a time until we knew he was okay, but otherwise we just jumped in. Neither of us have food allergies in our family at all though, so that was a big consideration for us. LL is 9 months and has literally had everything (and loves everything!) except honey.

We have no food allergies on either side of the family, so we don't wait. I usually stick to one new food a day, though. I did wait a few days after strawberries since they seem to be a common allergen, and may wait after a few other foods like nuts, eggs, etc...

I was told that rule is outdated...UNLESS you have a family history of food allergies. We do not, so we don't observe this rule at all.

@heartonastring: same
I waited a day in the very very beginning, but after a week or so and he hadn't reacted, stopped all together. The only one I worried about was peanuts, which we gave at the pedis at his 9 month appointment.
