Mine was $5k. It worked aesthetically, my teeth are straight, but because it wasn't an ortho, my bite is weird and I had a small amount of gum erosion. I would do it if you're in a hurry or really self-conscious about wearing braces... (I was hurrying to get it done before my wedding.)

Mine was also about 5K, with some covered by my dental insurance (I was teaching full-time when I had it done). Mine was purely aesthetic, as I'd never had braces, and one of my front teeth was slightly crooked, and I wanted it fixed before our wedding. My husband liked the results so much he did it himself to fix movement in his teeth from when he had braces as a teen. My mom did it, too! If I recall, my orthodontist said that for bigger issues than cosmetic fixes, braces are more effective, but for the cosmetic stuff in a short amount of time it's really great. I really liked my experience, and still wear my retainers at night (5 years later) to keep my teeth straight!

I did it when I was in college. I had never had braces and had minor crooked teeth. It was $5k.
I neglected to wear my retainers though and my teeth shifted back.. not completely but I would need to basically do it again for them to be super straight again!
My dentist said I could get braces on the backside of my teeth instead of Invisalign this time, but I haven't bothered.
Overall I did like the Invisalign experience. One thing though is that I had to have "buttons" which are like tooth colored little attachments that aid in moving your teeth. I think had 4 total. I didn't realize this when I first started (some people don't have to). The buttons are a bit noticeable, which defeats the whole invisible factor so just a heads up.

My teeth are still mostly okay, I'm more curious about the future. Someone was discussing it with me recently, and I almost thought their teeth might be too bad for invisalign? Their quote also seemed a bit higher than I normally hear.

I did it almost ten years ago. I had braces as a kid and didn't wear my retainers after high school and my bottom teeth shifted a lot, to the point that when I smiled it looked like I was missing a tooth from the right angle. It was $6000, I think, but my insurance actually covered $2000 which was really nice- no insurance I have had since covers it in adults. It took maybe a year? Overall I was happy with it, except when I needed the buttons and rubber bands that @mauxie: mentioned- those were so embarrassing. But then I had my wisdom teeth out years later, my aligners/ retainers didn't fit, and instead of getting them fixed right away I let it go and my teeth have shifted a little again.

@Boogs: I think it depends more on what you problem is than how bad- like if the teeth are up and down, it's not good at fixing them, but if they are just separated or rotated, it can fix them. It will just take longer for more severe cases.

@Boogs: dh and I each paid 4-4500. I thought it was a great process. We had retainers as kids.

I looked into it recently because my teeth have slightly shifted from when I had braces as a kid. I can't remember what I was quoted because I ended up realizing that I didn't want to be tied to a retainer for the rest of my life, and didn't realize that it would be required.
