I just upgraded my phone on Tuesday from 4 to 5. I always seem to buy things right before a new version comes out. Haha.

I like having Siri. I don't know what 5s has but I'm pretty sure the 5s is going to be more expensive so odds are if I had waited til this summer to upgrade, I still would get the 5. I only wanted to spend $200 on a phone.

I was telling the DH, that I always like getting the second newest phone. This was the first time I got the newest one.
The newness is only going to last a couple months.

That's really nice of your brother! I would probably just get the 5 now. I still have the 4 and I really want to upgrade. I think I'll hold out until the 5s comes out so I can get the 5 cheaper. But since he's buying it for you, might as well get the 5 now.

I just upgraded my 3GS to a 5. I couldn't wait any longer. My phone had been dying a slow death for the past year, and the only reason I got a 5 was because I didn't want my phone to be obsolete within 6 months.

@regberadaisy: oh, upgrade fee is the same? Shoot!

Oh, btw, you will have to get new cords. I was kinda bummed that they went from the 30 pin to the lightning connector. I have a stash of 30 pin cords. So a little annoyed I have to get new cords and/or adaptor.

Oh, if you want to get the adapter that converts your old cords to be used with your new phone, I would suggest buying it on Amazon. It's $25 on amazon and I bought it for $30 in the apple store. Also amazon had some cords for only $15.
