LOL I've thought about this before. I WOH full-time, but our office is super casual so I wear jeans or cotton skirts to work every day and sometimes with sandals. It's crossed my mind that they probably think I am a SAHM but still send my kid to daycare!

Haha you are too cute! There's really no way for them to judge though... What if sometimes you get ready after you drop off? They can never know! I also wonder if they really even notice as they're probably so busy. I don't have to dress up for work so they can def take it either way.

@Corduroy: Hahah this is exactly both me and DH since we both WFH a few times a week. I'm such a bum and I don't care too much cuz I figure they'll see me 5 min max at dropoff. DH cares more than me and he always makes sure to put gel in his hair so he doesn't look so much like a college student.

@Mamaof2: Our center always has sign up sheets for those holidays...I always sign the kids up!

@Corduroy: I think not having casual office attire is what makes me not care as much because as much as they see the bummy me on the days I WFH, they also see a dressed up me the days I go into the office - so I at least know that they know I'm actually working!

@Corduroy: haha, yeah, you just need to not worry about it! They probably aren't judging you!! A lot of the parents I see at daycare pickup/drop-off are in their yoga pants and tank tops, so a lot of parents don't look like they are going to the office!

@Corduroy: omg, your post made me crack up because I feel the same way when I take a sick day from work. Like, last year I had a really bad stomach bug once and then another time a bad sinus infection...so I called in sick and had DH drop LO at daycare even though I was at home.

And then I kind of worried LOs teachers would judge me for not keeping LO at home while I'm sick (since I showed up looking like crap).

I realize that's ludicrous but still.

And btw--your fears aren't totally unfounded! I kept telling DH about this woman in our building whose LO goes to the same daycare who always picked up her LO in work out clothes--and I kind of joked around with him like, "who is this woman who can afford full time daycare for her LO and just be a SAHM and probably spend all day working out"...like totally jealous right?

And then my husband pointed out that she probably works at home. And I was like.....oh...duh. After all those months of being envious, too.

@Anagram: That exact thing happened to me the other day. I was sick and DH took L to daycare. We needed to drop bottle off at the daycare for a bottle drive and I went with DH and I was so worried they'd see me and judge. LOL

Nope, but I usually tell the daycare "hey I'll be home today if you need anything" since they have my desk number on record. She never judges me, heck I've taken Lo and gone back home when I haven't felt good or took a day off because I needed to get stuff done, I don't feel bad about that!

Ooooh, mom-guilt! My DH doesn't understand feelings like this at all either. My situation is different, but I feel the same way when I sometimes leave M with her babysitter after I work an overnight shift. Nevermind that I've been awake for 27 or so hours by that point and on my feet for 12 hours at work. I still feel guilty for having to go home to nap while she's with someone else!

I guarantee you the teachers/staff don't think twice about what you're wearing!!!

I had the same thought when DD went to daycare. Now she is in school and I don't think the judgment is there anymore. Most of the moms are SAHMs.

Uh you pay them for their services, they need you, I doubt they judge what you are wearing.
